Went to Target today during the course of running some errands. There were some shiny things I wanted -- like season 1 & 2 of X-Files for $40 each -- but I was good and only got the extended cut of A Knight's Tale because I am a Heath Ledger fangirl. Yes, I am.

Speaking of SGA (heh) I picked up the latest Stargate magazine while I was out today. Seems to be a yearbook special with lots of interviews with cast, including Joe, Torri, Hewlett, Rachel, Nykl, and Kavan Smith. Short articles, but still enjoyable. Who is in charge of gathering images for the publication? Because it makes me cry. They're using grainy screencaps that look like they've been ripped off the 'net. So. Sad.

Just found 12months and while there aren't a load of entries there, the ones I see by slodwick and newkidfan are lovely.

I also hate the lay-out of the SG mags (and kind of pretty much all those fanon-centric publications), they come off cheap or amateurish somehow. Like SG by way of Tiger Beat or US Weekly. It's just wrong (particularly considering SGA fandom is all new and shiny to me, I'm far too tempted to buy everything right now).

However, speaking of SG (and my pathetic zero resistance to spoilers), are you spoiled? Gateworld just posted some interesting SG1 S10 (ep3) spoilers and if you're not spoiled I won't get into details but... maybe it's just me, it does seem like there's a growing amount of incestuousness between the SGs. I suppose that's redundant considering it's all SG, but, I don't know. Seems like the incesty is increasing.

YES. I hate the layouts too! They look like projects from my Graphic Design class. Ugh.

I'm not at all spoiled for plot, but I do know about *Claudia Black coming back and Amanda Tapping doing double duty on both shows* if that's what you mean. I don't think it's going to be as bad as we're afraid of. Heh.

I actually don't think I've ever found a fanon publication that didn't look piss poor. It's almost like... expected cheapness or something. Like you go to the Vegas Strip and expect the tackiness/gaudiness and hooker fliers everywhere... just wouldn't be right without them.

And about the SG, it doesn't sound all that bad at all... at least to me. Then again I have admittedly odd tastes and don't watch SG1 all that regularly... not that that really matters in regards though. Love my lame attempts at total vaguery? ;)

I actually didn't know about that second whited-out bit surprisingly enough, but I probably would have found out soon enough since I? Am a pathetic spoiler whore.

Huh. I kinda have to agree with you there. Most of them are all big gangly graphics with a tiny bit of content.

The thing with the SG is that... I don't really care about any of the old SG1 characters anymore except when they interact with the SGA characters, whether on the show or in fanfic. That's the only way I can find them interesting, especially Sam. Also, as long as Daniel is paired with Vala (as much as I love Ben&Claud), he's got a bit more life in him.
