Quick update because I am so. tired.
Work was boring boring boring. Boss called to check in and asked if I might need time off to get ready for trip; I said sure. She has me go over schedule again. I can't have Monday or Wednesday fof because I'm closing and Tuesday thre is a staff meeting and I have to cover. So... no day off? Argh. Anyway.
After the job, I made my way to the mall for a movie double feature. Got there way early, so I decided to get something to eat and putz around for a while. Of course this means I ended up at Best Buy where I bought Farscape Starburst Edition 3.1 (now on single sided dics! woohoo!) and the Underworld: Evolution soundtrack.
Trailers: I'm going to lump them all together here.
+ On a Clear Day - Billy Boyd! :D Film about the man who swam the English Channel. Looks fun.
+ Ultraviolet - not be confused with the BBS series, Milla Jovovich plays a superhuman soldier. Again. Hell yes I want to see it.
+ Silent Hill - Hrm. Looks interesting. And the little girl is the one who was in Dead Like Me. Meh.
+ Lady in the Water - the hell is this movie about?!
If yesterday was Hot Boy day, then today was annoying theater-goer day. Seriously. Turn off your damn cellphone! Do not try to explain the entire first movie to your friend while the second one is going on -- just have them be clueless for a while. Personal space!! I do not know you and I do not need you slouching all over my armrest and seat space. You're seeing a movie about gay cowboys; you know this because you're only seeing it for the award it won; do not be shocked when there ishot boysex. You're seeing a movie about vampire and werewolves; do not be shocked when things get killed. Like horses. And people.
Brokeback Mountain. I liked this a lot. No, not just for the hot boysex, though that was nice. The theater was absolutely packed and I couldn't help but think that some of those people had no idea what the movie was about really and just wanted to see it because it had won an award. Which is, you know, not a bad thing, but they're sure in for a surprise. A male in a group of four freaked out a bit while people were settling in. He stood up and insisted "the order is going to be boy-girl-girl-boy so I am as far away from (a man) as possible." Uhm. Right. There was a lot of inappropriate giggling, which was expected but still annoying. The bys being frustrated with their situation and sort of angsting and fighting it out is... not funny. At least not to me. Anyway. I will be owning this DVD.
Underworld: Evolution. Annoying audiance people aside, can't say there was much I didn't like. It was just an hour and a half of sex and violence. And as the sex involved Scott Speedman and Kate Beckinsale, I'm not going to complain. The gore and violence was a little overly at points and I wasn't as impressed with the creature effects this time around. The plot, I thought, was a bit more coherent this time around, but I forgot all about it when there was sexin' on screen. Heh. Really. It was hot. HOT. Yeah. Buying this DVD too.
