Yay for getting excited and then.. not.

Everything was working perfectly fine at [livejournal.com profile] pgnblade and [livejournal.com profile] thebigfatman's, so I went home. Because people are working in the morning; those people not being me. I get home, am a bit giddy, and am setting everything up. Plug in all the plugs and such, boot it up; Schrodinger is a shiny blue beauty.

Except when it comes to the wireless because though it was working completely fine not 30 minutes ago, it is now showing an exclamation thing in the device manager and the status is, "This device cannot start (Code 10)"

I have googled this and it seems as though peoples' solutions are to just buy a new card. This is unacceptable; as it was just. working. Have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, reinstalling from driver CD (yes, I found it)... nothing works. I have no idea. I am now annoyed.

Except I'm tired and I am going to bed. And dealing with it.. at some other time.

[livejournal.com profile] pgnblade: Do you have any suggestions as to what I should do? Besides throwing things. Heh. Also, I know the last thing you need is more computer stuff, but I have all the documentation and software for the system I left with you if you want it. This includes board drivers, manual, etc.

Remove the manufacturers software. It's causing the conflict. Use Windows wireless networking.

: )

Good luck.

Yeah, ended up doing that. Removed all software, yanked the card, shut off, turned on with out card, shut down, put the card back in and Windows picked it up and managed it that way. Heh. Help desk 101; I really should have remembered that.
