I just got back from seeing King Kong. The only trailer that I can remember and really care to mention is X3. I couldn't get that stupid quicktime file to work, so I never saw it. I'll admit that the trailer looks pretty decent, but I'm still iffy on the film. We'll see.

I... thought it was all right. Parts of it moved sort of slow, like the Rex fight and Kong running off with Ann. Speaking of... when Kong was sprinting through the jungle with Ann clutched in his hand? She should really be suffering from serious whiplash or broken limbs. I liked the Kong/Ann scenes, especially the one where they were on the cliff at sunrise and the ice sliding in the park. Back on the island, Peter really showed his horror background with the scene in the ravine were everyone was being eaten alive. OMG. Especially Andy Serkis who gets gobbled up by these nasty fleshy worm things. Ugh, and on that note the huge quadruped (Brontosaurus? I'm not sure...) dino stampede was really uncomfortable to watch once they all started tripping each other and squishing each other and people. Ew.

So, overall, I have to say it was a big long and not as good a film as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The effects were top notch as always and the acting was good enough, but... the pacing seemed off, I suppose. I'll probably get the DVD set or wait for the Special edition that I'm sure will come out. Until then, I've decided not to pick up the Production Diaries unless I can find them for way cheaper. Heh.

After the movie, I stopped by Build A Bear and bought 3 stands. Woohoo! I sort of hated that they had to lean on each other and other things so they didn't topple over. Yes, I do realize that I am a huge dork.

My boss called while we were at the movies. She wants me to go in earlier tomorrow. Uh huh. We'll see.

I think I'm skipping this month's BPAL moon update. I'm only slightly interested in Holiday Moon and I'm sure there will be bottles and such floating around later on.

well... no. But the pacing in that was done so well, I guess I might have been expecting too much from Kong. Heh.
