For anyone who hasn't heard, Sony/MGM is offering replacement discs for the the defective Disk 5 in Atlantis boxsets as well as a replacement for the truncated "Threads" episode from the SG-1 Season 8 boxset.

Because no one is sure if later editions of the SG1 set will have the longer version of "Threads," I'm thinking about getting Season 8 of SG-1 for the four episodes that I actually enjoyed. $30 shipped from Deep Discount DVD. *checks bank account* Hrm. I think I can swing it. Yeah, okay. *buys*

They're at Der Waffel Haus! I must own that episode.

Damn it. Burbank! I always forget about Burbank when I'm making these impulse buys. *slapsself*

i'm constantly amused by that icon, but i definitely have no idea of the true context. all i know is that it's from "dead like me" (right?) and it's the bit where daniel is in the great diner in the ascended sky.

could you explain? i mean, cos i feel like i should be even more amused :op

In "Dead Like Me" the Reapers always meet at this diner called Der Waffel Haus.

I always suspected (since Stargates and Dead Like Me both filmed at Bridge Studios) that SG1 had snagged the diner set to use in "Threads," since they looked EXACTLY the same. So I made the icon because a) Daniel has died lots of times so b) it would be funny. The face Mason and Daisy pull? It's the "oh, not again" face.

The set stealing has been confirmed on the SGA DVD commentary where one the Martins (I think) said they needed more space and when they found out DLM was on "extended hiatus," they begged for their stages.
