The card you sent me in Vermont. It was such a different place, and it was wonderful, but I felt so detached from a lot of my friends - even the people I knew on the internet because I was working all the time! Your card made me remember that "Hey, there are people out there that aren't consumed with sorting out lumber piles!" and it just really brought a bit of "home" to me.

(also, that purple scarf. now that I've started almost obsessive knitting, I also obsessively adore every knitted thing that's ever been given to me.)

(and the city you live in. schnectady, schnectady, schnectady. I suppose when I send someone mail more than I email them, their address just really STICKS.)

My favorite memory is when I was really down about my aunt's death. And you took the time to explain a Buddist funeral. And we laughed about how even though the cultures are so different, certain things didn't change. It got me through that time a lot easier. Thank you.
