serenity weekend [no spoilers]

amezriUhm. So I've been a bit MIA, but I'm back. Serenity weekend was awesome and now that it's over, I'm pretty wiped out. This entry is just stuff that we did - non-Serenity related and thus non-spoilery. I'll post all that stuff in a seperate entry.
Friday
Uhm. Spent most of the day cleaning. 'Cause I still hadn't finished two rooms and a bathroom. Got everything cleaned up a little after noon.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
ozw and alorarose texted me from the road and told me they were in Boston and some other lies. They are bastards.
They got here around 4:30pm so I showed them around the house a little bit and we headed out to the mall. Met up with Matt (who has a fresh new lj -mcmi11ions) and headed to the food court to get something to eat. The people working at Subway are the slowest ever. Oh. Em. Gee. thebigfatman, pgnblade, and friend met up with us there. Ate our food stuffs. Headed to Build A Bear to get blank shirts for Shep!Bear and Vaidah's Ena!monkey - we were going to make Serenity shirts for them.
After that, we headed to the theatre to wait in line for Serenity. It wasn't really that long and they let us all in about an hour early. There was one guy dressed as Mal (Vaidah got a picture) and a really awesome Jayne hat. Also a family of 6 in Jayne hats. That was cool.
Serenity spoilers in the next post but let me just say the movie totally rocked. Rocked so hard that I had to see it again on Saturday and want to see it a third time.
After the movies, Vaidah, Oz, and I went back to my house. We putzed around a bit and made iron-ons for our plushie shirts. They came out really nice - unfortunately I didn't get a picture of Shep in his. Then we watched Nothing. I love that movie; Hewlett rocks in it. I hope they liked the movie, too.
Saturday
Woke up around 9am and waited for Oz & Vaidah to get up. Then we went to Emperor's for lunch & some dim sum. Yummy. Had beef chow fun, my favorite. Then we hit the mall before we caught the 4pm showing of Serenity. When we went to buy tickets, the ticket girl asked about the Serenity shirt we had on our monkey and bear. She thought it was cute and askedozw where his bear was. Hehehe. There was some fun-filled wandering around stores, including Build A Bear where alorarose and I scoped out bears that we were going to get later on.
I wasn't sure Brian was going to show up because I wasn't able to get in touch with him after Friday. Anyway. He did show up and it was fun. Erm. When I was introducing Brian, I turned to Oz and said, "this is Andrew--uh. Oz. Holy shit, did I just call you Andrew?" Because, yeah, I have never called him anything but Oz. Ever. And that was totally fracking weird.
Serenity the second time around? Even better.
After the movie, we hit Friendly's for a quick dinner before we went back to Build A Bear. I was going to get the Curly Teddy, but he didn't stand the way I wanted, so instead I got a Caramel Cub. Not overly cute and sort of scrubby... but strangely appropriate for Rodney. Yay Rodney!Bear! I got him a blue shirt and khaki pants and picked up Air Force dress blues for Shep!Bear.
Back at my house, we took pictures of our bears and played Scrabble while waiting for McLeod's Daughters. Uhm. Yay Australian soaps? Heh. After that, we watched a couple episodes of Wonderfalls, which I haven't watched in a while and Vaidah & Oz hadn't seen at all. I love that show. Jaye is my hero and Eric is too cute.
Sunday
Woke up sorta early-ish. We watched more Wonderfalls - but didn't get to Jewel's episodes before we went to lunch at Ruby Tuesdays. Which was cool. Vaidah made a phone post.
alorarose and ozw left around 4:30pm to head back to Long Isand. *sniffle* It was cool having them around.
After they left, I headed over topgnblade's. Saturday the fan on my desktop's power supply started making a grinding noise. Now, it's sort of always done that and has been for the last year but it generally stops a few seconds after start-up. Anyway, this weekend, it totally bugged out and I had it shut down all day. So pgnblade said he'd swap it out for me if I bought him a new power supply. Yay.
Before I left, though, my father called to let me know he was 15 minutes from the house. He was coming back to pick up some tools and... going back to the city. Uh. Yeah, so he drove 3 hours upstate to pick something up and then turned around and drove 3 hours back. And he actually did it, too. Wack job.
When I got home I was too tired to check most of my flist and answer most of my mail. So I'm gonna go do that in the next few days along with some other projects I've been meaning to do.
