sga mix: maximum sheppard

Right. You know, not doing anything else. Finished my Sheppard mix CD and got the cover done. Enjoy! Please comment if you snag so I can watch the bandwidth. Feel free to link people to this entry, but not the files directly.



I had planned to make a really dark, aggressive Sheppard mix for those times when he's all gungho on a mission and ready to kickass and take names. But it didn't really turn out that way. So what I have now is a mix that takes you through three phases of Sheppard: the enthusiatic guy who goes on adventures, the guy who gets pissed off when you mess with his team, and the scarily quiet guy who will frell you up when you push him to far. Hopefully it flows all right.

Here's the tracklist with possibly really lame reasoning.

01. Bach Street Prelude // Vanessa-Mae
A cheerful contemporary arrangement of a classical piece. Pre-Atlantis John perhaps. There are depths to this easy-going, laid back guy.

02. Magic Carpet Ride (Techno Remix) // Crystal Method
John's flying theme. He so grooves to this track flying a helicopter or a puddlejumper.

03. Intergalactic Friends // Ultra 396 (Mashup) -- (mixer site)
This song makes me think about John's decision to go to Atlantis, his arrival in another galaxy, and the things he might be leaving behind on Earth.

04. I Think I'm Crystalized // Garbage (Crystal Method Remix)
Heading through the 'Gate on another mission.

05. Red Tape // Agent Provocateur
Crap starts to go wrong on the mission and Sheppard has to be unlazy and take action.

06. The Fight Song (Slipknot Remix) // Marilyn Manson
Sheppard has his own reasons for fighting and his own methods for doing so. He'll follow orders - as long as they agree with what he's going to do anyway.

07. Optimissed // Skinny Puppy
Fight anthem.

08. After the Flesh // Thrill Kill Kult
Another fight anthem. For when Sheppard goes after Wraith. I walk through forests with ugly spirits

09. By_Myslf (Reanimation Mix) // Linkin Park
Fight anthem with Sheppard introspective. Do I follow my instincts blindly? Do I hide my pride from these bad dreams And give in to sad thoughts that are maddening? Do I sit here and try to stand it? Or do I try to catch them red-handed? Do I trust some and get fooled by phoniness? Or do I trust nobody and live in lonliness?

10. Attitude // Hardknox
A little lighter in tone, but the aggression is still there. I'd pull lyrics, but I'd end up transcribing over half the song, so. Yeah, I have an attitude.

11. Terminal Velocity // Gavin Griffiths
Instrumental track. Sheppard taking action. I can so see him running through the woods with his P90 taking out the enemy with this playing.

12. Robbing Charity // Curve
Don't rob me of everyone I care for / Don't rob me of everything I've worked for

13. Training Montage // Harry Gregson-William
Hunting/stalking music. It's a bit James Bond-y.

14. Ball // Craig Armstrong
Hunting/stalking music with a darker edge.

15. Slasher's Revenge // David Holmes
It could be the fanon talking, but I think Sheppard gets deceptively calm when he is well and truely pissed off.

16. Loaded Gun // Hednoize
I am a gun and I am loaded / I'm taking you down / I'll take you down / You're going down
Do not piss of Sheppard. He will keeel you.

17. Need to Destroy // THC
you might might become something i need to destroy
A bit on the calm and mellow side... like Sheppard right before he hunts you down and kills sixty of you for messing with his people and his city.

*It's on megaupload for now. I'm having a problem uploading to my server at the moment. Will also work on trying to upload the individual songs somewhere.

Server seems to be fix, so I've changed the link, but left the MU mirror up for later. Individual songs are being uploaded now.

EDIT: As of 12:49pm EST, I can confirm that the zip file uploaded to the eternalvox server is valid and working. Sorry about all the trouble! That'll teach me to get overly excited about something and posting before checking to make sure it works.

EDIT: Hotdang this mix is popular. Or something. Bandwidth on eternalvox has hit a max for today (but it's not really the max... erm..) so try the megaupload mirror. I'm also going to get another mirror up on a different server for those of you who can't get megaupload to work.

Edit: Taking down the individual files as they are a pain in the ema. Put a copy of the zip up at Tominationmedia.net so I can give the bandwidth on that account a bit of a workout. Have at it!

Edit: Have had to take the files down from both of my servers, but the megaupload link is still up. Thanks to everyone who has downloaded and commented so far :)

Megaupload has a 45 second wait time before the counter changes to a download link.
