Worked some more on my SGA/lightsaber vid. Two more clips done, 6 more to go. Oy. At one point this was fun and now it's almost making my brain hurt. However, I will be stubborn and actually finish something I start. Then I can move on to the "Mermaid Blues" video.

People met Joe Flanigan at the Burbank Con today. I'm very, very jealous. I want to hear every sordid little detail, do you hear me, people?

meme from a bunch of people on my flist, but most recently, [livejournal.com profile] cassiejamie:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

I am afraid of bees because when I was 7 or 8, I got into a tire swing and there was a whole hive in it. To this day if there is a bee near me I either stand really still and just shake or run away.

I stayed up one night with a friend watching a anime about a gay rock-star who falls in love with a romance writer who has serious issues and hates almost everyone. The anime was completely un-subtitled and no one had heard of Gravitation at that point. Of course this was 5 years ago. But still. Lol.

I'm really bad with children. I'm not used to them, I'm afraid to break them, I'm afraid of their germy little hands. That said, upon meeting my paternal family a couple of years ago, one of my uncles handed a larval cousin to me (he must've been 1-2 years old) and proceeded to make me stand there while people took pictures.

The child stared wiggling, and I was afraid to drop him. All I could do was stand there and whine, "It's squirming!"

Yep, those were the words out of my mouth, verbatim, and everyone laughed. And that was pretty much their first impression of me.

Oh and to this day? They still won't let me forget it.

I occasionally sing in other languages, and sometimes start translating songs into other languages without thinking.

I have never eaten a banana.

When I was a kid, we had a kitten called Tigger, but it scratched me and I pulled its tail too much so my parents got rid of her :(

I had a fish called Number 73, but it wasn't because that was the 73rd. It lived for a long long time.

Hmmmm. Get to talk about me? :o)

For future reference:
In love with anything tea, never touched coffee. Photographer, writer, mother-hen, lawyer-in-spe.
When found a show that I like, I tend to be in love, talk about it too often.
Fiercely loyal to friends. I tend to prattle on, sometimes to a point of a running commentary (just ask people who met me).
Sci-Fi geek. Booklover. Goes into withdrawal without music.

At a formal dinner, I know what each utensil is for. If I'm there with friends, they'll ask me which one they should be eating with.

Last night I dreamt of Scotland for the hundredth time in my life and I don't care how I do it, I'm going there. I'm going to live there and I'll be happy to do it. :)

Also - Yay! Lightsaber/SGA... *g*

I like video games just fine, but the only ones I've obsessed over are The Sims, in all its incarnations. I even have them for GameBoy.

I knit. I knit a lot. I knitted my roommate a plushie womb. That's right, a womb. Uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes. She was amused and frightened.

I'm a hopeless romantic one minute, and an apalling cynic the next. Thus, I love gooey Cinderella stories as well as dark, gothic horror stories about the wretchedness of humanity. I'm a lot more open about liking the latter.

I would rather do ANY chore except taking out trash. ANYTHING.

When I was little, I had Wonder Woman and SpiderWoman underoos. They were the BEST. I loved superheros. I would call my dad at work all the time to tell him my favorite joke (that I made up, and it was a different punch line every time I called):
Q: Why did the Incredible Hulk go 'Yi-yi-yi'?
A: Because Firestar gave him a hotfoot.
A: Because...there were....bees. In his nose!
A: Because he can't swim and he was in the OCEAN.

I think my dad didn't mind the calls.

Someone mentioned a knitted uterus she'd seen (whether knitted or just the pattern with a completed-item photo I can't recall) at a recent Stitch N Bitch meeting, and all I could think of was that I'd like that pattern. Doubt I'd ever get around to making one -- but just the pattern would be nice to have on general principles.

You know.. I'd like to see the pattern for that too. Not that I'd be able to actually knit it. Heh.

From: [personal profile] fyrdrakken
Well, I'm at least partly interested because I'd seen a number of knitted toys and dolls and realized that I'd love to knit an oriental dragon, but would like to have some actual patterns for these knitted items to get a better sense for how one makes one before I go deriving my own pattern for one.

As a family, we have had Rabbits, Geese, Ducks, Guinea Pigs, Chickens, Cats, and Fish as pets...plus a Monkey, a toilet-trained Porcupine and a Cuscus...as pets...

Pardon the very late reply, I just re-built a machine and when I started Galeon this was one of the pages that was opened...
