otaku mascots: help!
Jul. 4th, 2005 10:51 pmA long while back I made a chibi Vaughn otaku mascot for darkstar's site. It was really simple and I can't remember what base I tweaked. Anyway. I need help...
Anyone on my flist who makes pixels/dollz (I know there are at least two of you) - could you please help me with a wee project? I'd like to make three otaku mascots based on Stargate: Atlantis characters: John Sheppard, Rodney McKay, and Carson Beckett. Basically, they'd have similar outfits (just different colors), different hair and eyes. Rodney & Carson have a similar body build, and John is slimmer than either of them. I can provide loads of reference images and I did find some dolls I liked the looks of. All three would be little, not more than 150 pixels - I'm aiming for the 75-100 range.
The mascots are animated, so there's the basic three blinking frames, and a few other actions. I haven't decided what yet, but probably just basic things like smiling, falling asleep... if you're able to do more complicated things, that would rock. All together, we're talking as little as 9 frames per mascot, but more would be awesome. I found one mascot that falls off the window when you click him and then climbs back up. Very cute. Looks like about 6 frames for the action. We're not talking super detailed animation or anything.
I'd do all the animating/compiling, I just need someone to make the frames because I absolutely suck at pixel things. Looking for someone who is really good at pixels and might be able to freehand a wee bit to get some of the actions. Hell, even if you just sort of drew them into nice vector-like little images that would look good as a 3-5 color gif, that would be great too.
Come to think of it, if you can make nice looking dolls that look like the characters? All I'd want them to do is blink, smile, maybe have a shocked expression, and then look bored. Which would be just facial expressions and easy to do. Right? Right? ;_;
Oh. And one more thing. I'll be paying. Not sure how much, but yeah, this would be a paying gig. $10-20 maybe? If you're interested, I can send you the otaku mascot program and some sample mascots. The Jason one cracks me up.
