Uhm. I just bought this laptop, which is totally not the one I was looking at, but it's little and shiny. The white Atlantis decal is going to look awesome on the silver magnesium alloy frame. It weighs 4.2 lbs and the screen is a tiny 12.1", which is totally fine by me. Built-in Wi-Fi!

*dances*

eBay. There's only one guy selling them now, but I've e-mailed him to see if I can get more than one. Maybe we can do a big order or something. *g*

No eraserhead mouse thingy!
Not black!

Your computer is safe from me stealing it.

Built in wifi does rock though. What's it got in it?

Ew. I hate eraser mouse thingy. Never got used to the thing.

And.. okay.. I dont like that it's not black, but silver isn't bad, either. *g* Plus, it's 11"x10"x1" and 4lbs, which is the perfect size for me.

All the specs are here. Was thinking about wiping it and installing XP Pro, but since I'm just using it to torrent and watch DVDs, I don't know if I should bother. Opinion on that?

You might have to, I've never touched XP Home but as I understand it, it's a bitch to get to talk to the rest of your computers on the LAN. At some point you're going to want to move data off it onto a computer with a burner.

The practical side of me would want to convert it to whatever OS I'm using. But recently I have been considering loading different OS's on each machine I work with in order to learn more about getting different computers to talk to each other and generally keep my horizons broad. There's less effort in specialization, but of course greater risk if your hit with an OS specific virus.

So I guess it depends on how lazy and paranoid you are. ;-)

Well, I transfer everything through AIM and the notebook comes with a burner, so I'm not too worried about that. I guess if XP Home starts to piss me off, I'll kill it. Heh.

My main machine is still Win 98 (stop laughing). I actually like it and haven't had problems with it. Except... you know.. I can't really use any of my shiny new toys with it since the USB is messed up, but I don't think that's an OS issue.
