work; losing my brain. omg.; passports
Jun. 7th, 2005 08:20 pmGetting to work this morning was interesting. I drove in the wrong direction before I realized what I was doing and ended up late for work. Yesterday on the way home, I got really confused and started freaking out because I didn't know where I was or what road I was on... and it was really scary. About a minute later I figured it out, but still. Very scary. Actually being at work was really crappy because I had the mentality of a two year old and kept having to be reminded of what I was supposed to be doing. I couldn't keep track of conversatons and I was getting really confused. A lot. So, I've made another appointment to see the doctor. Erm. Physician's assisstant. Whatever.
On the way home, I stopped by Best Buy.. which is actually out of the way home, but. Uhm. *thinks* After some searching, I found the Stargate Atlantis: Rising DVD in the wrong section and for about $5 more than I thought it was going to be. I keep forgetting the website price is different than the store price. I got it anyway, of course, because I'm fangirling Joe Flanigan likewhoa. Also snagged the new Coldplay album and the third Farscape Starburst Volume. Which I kind of already have, but there was a faulty disk and I can't return it to the con vendor, so... I might try and take the faulty one back and get another. So.. then I'll have two good copies, one of which I will try to sell or give to one of you.
Got home. Ate an orange. When my mom got back she decided she'd teach me some weird tapping technique to help relieve stress and it's so ridiculous and... what's the word I'm looking for? (Rodney: "New age quackery.") Right. Like new age quackery. I felt so stupid doing it. Then I fell asleep on the couch for about two hours. Hey, look at that.. I have an inner Rodney voice. Lovely. *twitch*
Was pretty much falling asleep after dinner and now I'm being ordered to bed.
My Hobbit has fucking SCARRED me by showing me this. Okay, I didn't react to the movie like that at all, but I hate that scene. Really, really hate it. ;_;
Okay, going to lie down now.

keyser7soze says that by December 2006, we'll need Passports to get into Canada and Mexico via air or sea. 2007 for all land border crossings. Huh.

Date: 2005-06-08 02:51 pm (UTC)Just goes to show how effective that scene is. It's scary in Japanese (I didn't react that way either though).... but it's equally scary in English. ;)

You know, so when Dubya and posse push the draft, we can't run off to Canada or Mexico as easily. ::Is hoping the joke isn't a horrible omen of the future::

Date: 2005-06-08 02:58 pm (UTC)Uhm. You know, I sort of haven't even thought about that, even in jest. Now that you mention it, though, it could be true...

Date: 2005-06-08 03:07 pm (UTC)It could be nothing...or something. I visit Daily Kos regularly. Although it's a liberal staple, they can be a little panicky sometimes. They've eluded more than once a draft has been on the back-burner for awhile, itching to go forward.... but again, that could just be paranoia.
However, with recruiters not able to break even with enlistment quotas (who wants to enlist during a war?), the military already stretched thin and Dubya not exactly making nice with North Korea, Iran and the Iraq situation still in shambles (Where is Osama btw?)... maybe it's unneeded rebel rousing, but I can't help but think DK probably has a decent point.
