amezriWent to the mall with mom to look for curtains. Ended up buying two pairs of boy's shorts and hair dye. Didn't plan on seeing a movie today, but walking past the theaters, I sort of squeed about Michael Vartan being in "Monster-In-Law" and my mom asked if I wanted to go see it. Vartan balances out JLo, so I agreed. Am glad I did.
Previews:
+ Bewitched - the trailer makes the movie look a bit more interesting than the silly teaser... especially since the premise seems to be that Will Farrell's character is a actor trying to remake the Bewitched show and is looking for an actrees (Kidman) with the right nose twitch. I might watch it when it comes on TV.
+ Mr. & Mrs. Smith - so want to see this. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie blowing stuff up and being generally pretty. What could be wrong with that?
+ Dark Water - still looks stupid. If my apartment started leaking mysterious black water, I'd be out of there right quick. Standing around in wonder? Not an option.
+ Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants - Meh.
+ The Wedding Crashers - pretty much meh. Except for Bradley Cooper playing a crazy rich boy.
Right then. The movie. I was prepared for a dismal, poorly acted film. Ah, well, it's not thebestfilmever, but it was fairly entertaining and I didn't come out hating JLo more. She was actually pretty amusing even though I can't buy the middle-class girl in rich-woman's world thing, because - hello, it's JLo. Michael Vartan was every bit as charming as he was in "Never Been Kissed" and I just love his smile. He got to show a bit more (though not to much) of his range - more than Alias has been allowing him anyway. There were lots of stupidly funny bits between JLo and Jane Fonda. I really loved Wanda Sykes' character, Ruby. She does blunt well XD
So. In conclusion: entertaining, brainless, predictable movie. Michael Vartan still a hottie.
