tulip fest
May. 7th, 2005 04:20 pmJust got back from Tulip Fest. I was unimpressed by the whole thing overall and the vendors I'm just kinda meh about. Saw the Tulip Queen making her speech. Went to the EQX table and got stickers and a keychain. ZOX was fantastic. I don't think I can say enough about them how much they rock live. They sound very close, if not exactly, like their album, which is always a good thing; better than sounding really crappy live, eh? I decided to spend $10 and get their first CD and will probably get their second album. The violinist, Spence Swain, has some really crazy stage moves (I've got video) and plays a wicked violin. *is in love* Their set was short, but good. I didn't recognize a lot of the songs as I haven't heard everything enough to, but they played "The Squid," "Can't Look Down" and closed with "Canon," which is my favorite. They closed with an instrumental! And it was mind-blowing, truely. ZOX is playing at Valentines on June 6th, and I'll probably be going with Matt as he really liked them too.
Oh, look at that, I have gone and pre-ordered the CD with the Rest EP and poster. I am so easy.
In other news.... the jackhole is home. Guess I'm going to hide in my room for the rest of the night. Yay. :-P

Date: 2005-05-09 11:58 am (UTC)Uhm.. actually it does. The import bulbs from Holland and everything. But I was unimpressed with the tulip display this year. It was... meh. Nothing very special and everything you could find at your local garden center.
Schenectady/NYC
Whoa, odd combo. How are you coming through? Car/train/plane? A meet up would be cool :)
