SPOILERS FOR LOST 1.04

First off... David Fury! <3 I love my Buffy writers.

I thought this episode would have a rockstar!Dom flashback and more creepiness with tail passengers stealing things. But I guess not.

Kendall! With the creepiness and the wheelchair and the phone sex lady! Before tonight, I just thought he was creepy. Now I think he's sad, crazy, and creepy. I felt sort of bad for him. The wheelchair was extra shocking. Looking back, I see why the manager guy was taunting him and the whole deal with this feet. That, btw, is very.. I dunno. You're in a plane crash and suddenly you can walk? Meh.

The memorial was... weird. Dr. Jack should have been more careful about that sort of thing - people in a death trauma need some sort of closure like a memorial. Funerals aren't for the dead - they're for the ones left behind. Anyway.. yeah. Also, the burning of the fuselage? I know he meant well, but all the bodies and synthetic material... are you trying to KILL everyone?! I can only imagine the toxic cloud forming from that.

Dom! Fishing! So great. Even if he got all sad when he realizes that pretty!blonde was just using him to get food and show up her brother. Her brother, who is actually a decent human being. That and what I know of Ian Sommerhalder just do not compute. Boone must be an asshole! He just has to be. Because.

Can we just deal with the creepiness of the guy in the suit standing on the beach watching Jack? I really hope he's hallucinating because along with scary children, tall, silent, faceless figures just standing there freaks me out.

The boars? Whatever.

Summing up what I've seen of tonight's debates:

bullshit, bullshit, bullshit

From both sides, actually. Kerry's plan makes sense at the moment, but you never know what could happen when he's actually in office. Bush's plans never make sense. I am, however, entertained by Bush's slightly shocked and amused expression everytime John Kerry says something.

Bree has an excellent commentary up. It will make you chuckle.

Kerry lost some huge opportunities to completely humiliate Bush's complete lack of a domestic policy tonight, and it could ultimately cost him the election...just my gut feeling.

I agree. Kerry always seems to let Bush get away with stuff like that. It's painfully clear that Bush doesn't know what he's talking about 80% of the time (the other 20% I can't tell). Someone needs to correct him!

Good article, that is...the way they're talking about the show (a character study and the "monster" being more representational of their own demons), it sounds like they're taking the right direction.

I hope that JJ can balance this show and Alias, which was really suffering last year when he was focused on developing Lost.

I think it suffered less because of Lost and more because he and the writing team were overconfident in what they were doing. After two successful seasons with strong storylines, I imagine they felt it should come as second nature, and when that happens to writers, things get out of hand fast. And let's NOT forget they set themselves UP for a rough season with the whole missing two years thing and Vaughn being married. It would've taken some serious master storytelling for Season Three to be on par with the other two seasons of Alias, distractions or not. :)

that show never seems like a full hour. even tho' for an hour-long show, they don't really have that many commericals...it just moves so slowly.

but i'm so addicted it doesn't matter.

every wed night, its me and my 3 friends watching the, as we've dubbed it, "dom & t-rex show" followed by a resounding episode or two of "wife swap", which we're also somehow addicted to (no explanation can even be offered on that bit)

Lock really shouldn't be able to walk, even if he did have feeling in his feet, his leg muscles would've have been way too atrophied for him to walk.

And why did they burn the whole fusalage? That thing would have been great shelter during shit weather and even if Dr. Jack wanted the flames to be seen at night, the smoke during the day probably would have been better (a la PotC).

But the show is very fun to watch, despite the stupid things.
