Yesterday's interview thing went okay. It was more like a meeting for me to fill out paper work and sign a bunch of stuff. There's also this handbook I'm supposed to read. Friday I have to go to the hospital to get a hearing and drug test. Huzzah :-P It takes 5 days for that to come back, so I might not be able to start working for another week and a half. Plus, waiting on the Oneonta transcript. The HR woman is going to contact the bead place & B&N to ask for dates of employment. The bead bitch better not have some sort of problem filing in dates on the form - I told her I wouldn't use her as a reference, but that is not a damned reference. That's confirmation of where I was... so.. yeah. Arrr.
Anyway, I came out of the meeting feeling really good, so of course something happened to take me down. The parking ticket lady at the exit booth looked at my ticket and scowled at me and asked me what they told me. I just started at her blankly. She looked at the ticket again. HR lady had written that I was a new hire on it, to basically say not to charge me a parking fee. And the booth lady just wouldn't let it go - "What is this? Where are you working?" I told her that I was still going through the interview process. "Didn't they tell you to get a pass?" Deer in headlights. Uhm.. I don't work there. Why would I have a parking pass? Ugh, anyway, she finally gave me a nasty look and let me go. Felt kinda crappy after that.
SUNDAY! TOM!! No, I'm not excited.
It's really cold. Again. I don't like it.
Meeting

This wankiness just reinforces my dislike of Anne Rice. She's so pretentious. :-P "I don't need an editor or readers who dislike me or people with an opinion different than mine. I AM Lestat!" What a nutter. You can read her response to reviews of Blood Canticle as well as some other overly intellectual spewage here. I really love her comparison of the violence in The Passion versus crime shows on TV and how TV is more harmful to children than watching a man get brutally beaten and tortured for an hour. Right. Uh huh.
