Resident Evil 2 Poster Contest Finalists

They're up. And they disgust me.

Let me go through these...

#1) Looks pretty decent in thumbnail view. In larger view? OMG THE SCANLINES BURN! Also: billing block too high. Title too small.

#2) Would have been good if you didn't do that cheesey photocollage thing. OMG TACKY. I do like the effect on the title and the color/font used for Milla's name.

#3) What the hell is that? Did you put any effort into this at all? Also, "you're all going to die"?? And that GREEN? OMFG colorblind. Stop. with. scanlines.

#4) ... I like this one. I think the billing block should be white, though.

#5) I'd like this one more if it wasn't so blank at the top and the title wasn't ON TOP of the billing block. Really like the half sillouhette effect used on the pic of Milla though. Clever.

The winner will be announced August 2nd. But they all suck. [/bitter]

Wow. Now I'm pissed. I was thinking "oh...they didn't take Cyn's so they must have gotten a lot of great entries" and was actually looking forward to seeing them. Oh my god they're horrible. The first one would be good without the scanlines. The rest were just terrible. That photo tile thing? How fucking amateur is that? Jeez. I'm not even gonna touch 3. I didn't like the image in 4. And 5...too empty, and I don't like not seeing Milla's face at all. Shadowed would be nice, but not completely black. It makes my eyes strain to see her face when you can't.

#4) Probably the best of the five. Nothing that shouts 'WHAT WERE YOU /THINKING/' to me.
#5) *squints* It's unbalanced. The top is empty but the bottom has so many lettering. ._.

Overall, they could've picked better ones.

I was thinking about entering this but couldn't get my shit together to finish anything. Now I'm glad I didn't. That first one isn't too bad, but I'm hard pressed figuring out what that has to do with "Resident Evil". I assume that's supposed to be one of the regenerated?

All the rest of those posters? Yuck and way too easy. Basic photoshop much (and not even good basics)? Yours were better, as was the winner from the first contest (the red/black/white grungy collage featuring Jovovich's and Rodriguez's characters).

You had to be a US resident, and various other things. There was a strict list of things you could show and couldn't. Milla's picture had to be a certain size and her name had to come first, blah blah. The provided a huge amount of high res images to use.
