Deady Bear completed!
Apr. 16th, 2004 08:35 pmrandom use of a tomination icon...
For info on the previous prototype, go here.
The final Deady plush took about 8 hours to cut, sew, and glue together. I probably could have taken a bit more time, but.. I didn't. Oh well.
Below you can see a comparison of the two. I tweaked the pattern a bit before cutting the final version. The head is a bit larger, per Voltaire's feedback.

I'm missing the stitching detail around the eye... but I haven't decided if I'm going to sew it or use a fine point marker. The skull came out a bit on the prototype.. :-/

Another pic. You can see my lovely front foyer and our crappy formal living room furniture :-P

A close-up photo so you can see some details. I do realize the skull-eye is messed up... I'm going to see if i can find a tiny plastic skull from the scraft store to glue on there.
I'm not posting the pattern because it was a bitch and a half and I'm not sure it makes sense anyway. If you want to make your own Deady plush before the official comes out, I suggest you search for a bear pattern and change it to suit your needs. I will include a material list though, for posterity.
People who expressed interest in one... uhm... *shrug* If I develop an easy pattern for a smaller bear, I might post that.
Materials:
+ craft felt - red, black, white, purple (9x12 sheets from misterart.com - $0.12/sheet)
+ fabric marker
+ polyfill (joannefabrics, $2 for 16oz)
+ fabric glue
+ needle
+ white & black polyester thread
