work; random news from candyandpotter.com
Mar. 10th, 2004 01:08 pmWork was omgsolong. I didn't put away as many books today and felt pretty ill the whole time. Was fairly amused that it was raining in the music department. I was putting away romance books and looked around when I heard the sound of water. Water was pouring through the light fixtures in the corner. I got the manager and we cleaned up as much as we could and added two more buckets to the two already there. Okay, so I guess it's not as amusing as.. I thought it was, but hey, it's the only interesting thing that has happened in the last two months.
I'm an idiot. Yesterday was Tuesday, so when I made that comment about the Tom show at Amoeba, it had probably already started. *facepalm* Time. Warp. I've gone back and removed it so I look like less of an ass. Anyway, it seems my LifeTwin had a very good time. If Tom plays any shows this summer-ish, I might try to get out there.
... i've been trying to write this post for an hour but i can't focus ...
also, internet explorer is tweaking out. *smacks it*
Took a little tour of Candy & Potter's site which is pretty interesting. Among the news items:
Britney in her bathtub and naked suit, during her live stage show singing the sexy "Touch Of My Hand" Not only does it look ridiculous... well, actually, that's it. She looks ridiculous.
Moulin Rouge and Big Fish star Ewan McGregor is set to star in his own reality television series. Titled Long Way Round, the six episode program will follow the Scottish actor and fellow actor Charley Boorman on a four-month transcontinental motorcycle trip. The two will travel more than 20,000 miles through places like the Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, Siberia, Alaska, and Canada with the aid of a train, a plane, and a boat to get them across the ocean. McGregor and Boorman will begin their trip in London this April, and hope to finish it in New York City by the end of July. Long Way Round will debut on Bravo later this year.
Also, people may hate Kirsten Dunst, but Kirsten Dunst has refused to be interviewed by E! TV because she's appalled by the network's sleazy Celebrities Uncensored programs. She says, "It's so awful. I've banned E! I don't do any interviews for the network anymore. Why should I, when they're encouraging people to hold video cameras and become stalkers.
This makes my day though: Enrique Iglesias got his ego smacked dining at London's Nobu last week after spotting Lionel Richie at a nearby table. "He said, 'Hi, I'm Enrique.' But Lionel didn't register who he was and thought he was a fan," a spy revealed. "Lionel replied: 'Nice to meet you,' and started scrawling an autograph on a napkin. An embarrassed Enrique took the napkin and quietly slipped back to his table." Mwahahaha!

Date: 2004-03-10 11:21 am (UTC)We had leaks in our ceilings, and I had a ceiling tile actually fall in on me. (I was on a ladder poking it with a broom at the MOD's direction at the time... but still.)
Yeah. It was gross and scary. And we had several more fall down, one almost taking out a customer. Bad news.
Plus, I think I have some horrible illness from the crap in those damn tiles. :p
