ups and downs for today...

On the downside... I just recieved a letter from WETA. They don't have any open positions at the moment, but they're keeping my CV and portfolio on file for the future. Oh well. It was nice to get a letter at least...

On the upside... I finished two layouts, added some mood icons, and got a tax refund check for nearly $300!

Now I have to decide... if I want to blow my refund money or save it and whether or not I want to go to dinner with my parents and their friends (ones I actually like). On the one hand, there is free food - possibly a nice salad - but on the other there is the fact that my father will make disparaging remarks about... everyone.

I'm really sorry about WETA :(. At least they didn't say that they tossed your stuff into the garbage. That's something right?

You know, I was just thinking about your WETA application today. Oh well...I'm sorry you didn't get in, but they have your stuff now, and you never know what can happen. I say apply to them every year so they don't forget you! :)

I agree with devilwrites -- try again in a year, if you haven't found something else you don't want to leave, and see if the updated portfolio wows them. (Since you'll have had a year to grow and improve, after all...)
