amezriAh, Super Bowl Sunday. I have no interest in football or watching the half-time show. Though this year, I suppose I should have sat through half time. Truth.com aired the winning commercial, which I'm sure was very impressive on a TV screen as opposed to a tiny media player. Also... there was that little thing that happened where Justin Timberlake (looking really grizzly with that beard thing on his face. Dude, shave it off) exposed Janet Jackson's breast. I was sort of productive this weekend. New Tomination layout. I've discovered an preinstalled forum for the site which I'm trying to customize. I think I've figured out the phpbb templates. Sort of. We'll see. I'm also knitting. I hear it's cool these days. I'm not dong particularly well. Oh well. I think I might be getting better. Tough I'm sure I'm doing something wrong when the knit stitch keeps alternating front/back every two rows...
<lj-cut text="this is the part where I bitch about my father">He's saying he "keeps coming back" and bringing money so "I don't know what I keep doing wrong" to make us so cranky. Uhm, hi. Don't come back. Just stay anywhere that's far away. I think we'd all be happier if we were a bit poorer and he was gone. Like, forever. Like, I don't give a rat's ass if he fell dead in the street somewhere. I'd kill him myself except I'd have to dispose of the body and then there would be that whole jail thing.
Everytime he comes home he bitches and complains about the house not being clean, about my mom spending money, about my brother being fat, and me not having a job. He has no right to say any of those things especially when he is a filthy pig who spends hours on eBay buying crap that doesn't work. Oh, right don't forget the lying on his taxes and getting another mortgage to buy a brand new car.
I especially love the part where he complains about how he works so hard to bring home money when he has one of the easiest jobs in the world. He's an interpreter and, while I know there is a degree of language skill there, he's been speaking Mandarin and Fujinese all of his life, so I really don't care. He probably works 2-3 days a week, 2-3 hours a day. The rest of the time he is either in his apartment in the city or at home laying on the couch watching TV all day. Now he has wireless on his laptop, so he's taking up the family room <i>and</i> surfing the net. When he's home, basically no one else can use the television because if you ask him to move, he gets all pissy.
It's interesting how a mundane dicussion during dinner because a huge argument about how we are all horrible, horrible people because we cannot appreciate his magnificence and sacrifice.
And now he's bitching about us not calling his parents to wish them a happy new year. It's not like he remembered either. Why the hell do I care anyway? They've always hated us.

it sounds like you ARE doing it right...if you straight knit row after row after row it will alternate to the front and back of your piece. if you want all the knit (or conversely...all the perls) to be on the same side of the piece you have to alternate each knit row with a perl row...which is really just backwards knitting. hard to explain in words though...anyway. enough of a ramble.
