Jan. 30th, 2004 01:26 pmWorked some more on the new Tomination site - I think you guys will like it. Once it goes live, we'll also have some new files to be downloaded - including Tom's inteview at WBER. Those are all thanks to Saff, of course. :)
The best news I heard this morning: Pixar Splits with Disney (washington post story here)
It's about damn time. They were getting shafted and the only reason they hadn't left already is because Disney wouldn't let them go. Renegotiate for a larger share? For ownership of their movies? Ha! As if Disney would let them. Pixar originally had a 5 picture deal with Disney - "Finding Nemo" being number 5. Disney then said that, no, Nemo was 4, because Toy Story 2 was a sequel and didn't count. Feh. So I'm not sure how good "The Incredibles" is going to be, still better than anything Disney could crap out on its own these days anyway. As for "The Cars," I heard it was animated in-house, which means non-Pixar people, but I'm also hearing it will be last release of the Disney/Pixar "partnership." We'll see...
Erm. And I have no written source for the 5 picture deal thing. Heard it in class one day from an industry person who came to visit and give a lecture.
It's cold. I'm gonna go make lunch.
