OK Matrix & OKatrix; synch sites
Dec. 29th, 2003 02:56 amDude! I found them :) This is mostly for
hathien, but I guess it'll be interesting to anyone who like Radiohead and/or "The Matrix"
You'll need a copy of Radiohead's "OK Matrix", a DVD of "The Matrix", and if you are using any of the versions where CD tracks are out of order, a CD player that doesn't pause when trying to read tracks out of sequence.
----------------
OK Matrix
There are two segments for this synch ...
And two different methods for playing the first segment. The first method is this: pause your copy of OK Computer at the beginning of track 1, and press play just after Neo goes through the looking-glass, when the screen fades to black. Play tracks 1 thru 8 in sequence ... To try the second method, program your stereo to play OK Computer's tracks in the following order: 3 2 1 4 5 6 7 8. The starting point is the same.
To play the second segment, have the album cued up at the beginning of track 5, and time it so the music starts *just* as Neo enters the building to rescue Morpheus: the shot of Neo's boots coming in through the revolving door. Enjoy.
---------------------------------
----------------------
Okatrix
Special Note
Rearrange the songs in this order:
The Tourist
Exit Music (For A Film)
Fitter Happier
Let Down
Paranoid Android
No Surprises
Lucky
Electioneering
Airbag
Subterranean Homesick Alien
Climbing Up The Walls
Karma Police
...and start the album in the beginning, during the scene with the wire tap. Wait until the numbers grow towards the screen, then press play when the fuzzy greenness disappears about a second later.
Checkpoint
You should hear a small cymbal splash when the camera collides with the flashlight.
------------------------
Interesting stuff.
Michael Allen has a huge listing of synchs he's discovered, so check it out. Also, the Synchronicity Arkive has hundreds of synchs, including the infamous "Dark Side of the Rainbow."
Apparently "Abbey Road" goes really well with Fellowship...
I think I'm going to need a copy of Dark Side of the Moon...
[edit: and because I never explained it...
A synch is: The match formed by synchronizing a movie with an unrelated music album, to produce a new experience unintended by either work. ]
