W32.Blaster.Worm
Aug. 12th, 2003 02:08 amThis worm has a high distribution and a medium (who's measuring that?) damage rating. It causes your computer to crash (I'm hearing reports of crashes every 10 minutes) and it opens a remote cmd shell.
This worm enters your system through TCP Ports 135 & 4444 and UPD Port 69 - blocking these ports will greatly reduce your risk of infection.
Systems affected so far are Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Linux, Macintosh, OS/2, and Unix machines seem unaffected.

Date: 2003-08-12 03:30 pm (UTC)Any idea where I can find instructions how to do so? I removed the warm, but I'm afraid I'll get infected again, despite activating firewall.
