Work was busy, busy, busy today. Thankfully, I'm only working 5 hours tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm working 8 hours Friday & Saturday. Plus side to that is at least I don't have to close. Eww... closing. I was kind of bummed I couldn't help these two cute boys from Scotland - they were looking for an internet cafe and there just aren't any around here. Was totally unhelpful, but got a "cheers" and a smile anyway. Heh.
Before I left work, I picked up the Black Hawk Down soundtrack and my paycheck. Ugh.. let me tell you, it was extremely difficult leaving with just the one CD (which I tried to pay for with two 5s instead of three because I was totally out of it). In the DVD section, there was "The Pillow Book" and "Leon: The Professional." Over in books, there be The Language Police and Coraline. Hhm... no more shopping while working. Really.
Finally got home and found a box of Xena VCDs and my tickets to NZ waiting for me. Huzzah! More so for the tickets *g* I had turned in my little time off request slip to remind Kelly to not schedule me for those days. The manager who signed the request gave me a disapproving look (punctuated by the extended reading of the request) with the comment "You'll be gone for Christmas. That's what we hired you for." I hope he was joking, because a) I will be back to help with the Christmas Eve rush (which I know is a bitch) and the post-Christmas scramble. Anyway, my tickets are bought and if you don't give me the time off, fuck it. I'm not missing NZ for some stupid job. Besides, I was extremely up front with the NZ thing when I was interviewed, so, whatever.
I'm a go sleep now. Tired. Don't have work til 6 tomorrow, but mom's got a wicked case of poison ivy (the doctor gave her steroids and pain killers and antibotics) so I likely have to get the dogs out.
