About 40 minutes ago, my father again asked my mother if a divorce is what she wanted. And when should he expect to hear from her lawyer. She said when she's finds one. He asks what the lawyer is going to tell him. She says she doesn't know. He tells her that lawyers only do what you tell them to. He asks if she's going through with the seperation. She says yes. He points out the lawyer will cost a lot of money. Then says "well I guess I should find a place to stay." No shit, Sherlock. He tells her he's leaving to go back to the city because he doesn't want to have to get up early tomorrow. He storms out of the house, gets in his car and drives away. Mom came and checked with me and my brother - he didn't say anything to either of us about leaving. All of his stuff is still in the basement. He came back about 10 minutes later.

We all figured he was just trying get a rise out of her; she what she would say about it all. It must have been damn pissed that she's perfectly fine with it all. And I still can't believe the fucker told her that his lawyer friend said he'd only have to pay her 16% of his paycheck. That's bullshit. According to NYS divorce law, he owes the difference in the income if she is the custodial parent. If they have joint custody (my brother is under 18), there's no way he can only be legally obligated to pay 16%. I've never seen that figure anywhere.

Anyway, he's back now. In the basement and online. Apparently he was acting really weird after mom and I came back this afternoon. I didn't notice because.. well, I never care to notice. But he had probably talked to one of his stupid friends and told them all lies about my mother. Probably how she's trying to suck him dry, blah blah blah. Big fat liar. Yes.

If I were evil and mean, I'd wish him death in a firey car crash. That's if I were evil and mean of course. Because. I'm not. *cough*

*wishes him a slow and painfully lingering death in acute med-less agony following a firey car crash that leaves him twisted and broken in every way*

I sure am.
But conversely, I am wishing happy, stress-free and abuseless adjustment and cuddly family life for you and your mom and brother.

So I figure, karmically, it prolly works out.

True.... I wonder if that works on my end. Maybe build up the good karma so I can do a bad thing... *Hmms*

And we wouldn't blame you at ALL if you did... heck, I'd probably join you. ;)

*hugs* Hoping this all works out for you, sweetie.

He's a nutcase.. he really is.

I just hope my mom finds a lawyer sooner rather than later.

I'll bring the marshmallows if that happens. It's gotta be a nice, long, slow, agonizing process though.

I think your dad and my mom sound like they would be the perfect couple, actually, after hearing what my mother's been doing to my dad over the last two decades.

And by the way, if he thinks he's getting away with paying 16%, he is VERY sadly mistaken. He'll be lucky to have anything left once your mother pulls out those e-mails.

Good luck with all this.

I'll bring a sharp stick to poke him with in case he manages to escape the firey wreck.

And by the way, if he thinks he's getting away with paying 16%, he is VERY sadly mistaken.

*nod* I know. I really have no idea if he just pulled that number out of his ass or if one of his stupid lawyer friends actually told him that.

it doesn't make you a bad person.

It just makes you human. At least you don't act on it. ;)

But hey..karma will tell.

Sounds like my first stepmother, who used to pull the, "I want a divorce!" card just to get Dad to fall on his knees offering her anything just not to leave him. Really chapped her ass when he got fed up with her games and told her, "Fine. Call a lawyer." She wasn't done using him yet, and didn't want to leave at all -- it was all about control.

Seriously. My father.. ugh. *kills* She's still controlled by him in certain ways, but she's better.
