2003 MTV Movie Awards
Jun. 6th, 2003 01:55 amDude. Fantastic opening parody of Matrix Reloaded. Justin + Seann = kick ass hosts
Hugh & Famke presenting with a stupid geeky fan bit. That was great though. Siren. *snerk* Jen Garner was so cute accepting the Breakthrough Female award with her usual grace. I luff her ^_^ Er.. the popcorn shoots out of the podeum now. Weird.
Mike Myers - Best Comedic Performance. Yoda & Christopher Lee win Best Fight with Yoda accepting the award. That was odd. Great performance by Pink.. a little on the slashy side, eh? Cool though. I want her gloves. Adrian Brody & Queen Latifah making out on stage? Amusing. Such backlash for that kiss he planted on Halle at the Oscars. I think Jen & Ben should have won Best Kiss over Kirsten & Tobey, but whatever. The boy did almost drown doing the scene. I did think she was a bit to snarky saying Jen& Ben "bit their scene"; the expression on Jen's face was great.
Charlie's Angel mockumentary was only amusing because Vince Vaughn is the man and I could believe Patrick Swazy (sp?) did a cameo. I already knew they were going to win, but Sean Astin, Elijah Wood, & Gollum for Best Team! Whee! The acceptance was pretty amusing, especially with 30 people shouting Andy Serkis. This was, of course, totally ruined by the following 50 Cent performance because he annoys me so.
Eminem winning best breakthrough male was unsurprising. And the girl from the Ring was yeah... definitely Best Villian. So creepy. If I can get that close to Ashton Kutcher... mmm.. yummy.
Seann and Justin really aren't hosting. I mean, they are, but they aren't appearing as often as I was thinking. Oh well.
Lord of the Rings takes Best Action Sequence (with an amusing acceptance by Peter Jackson wherein he insults Viggo & Bernard and they chase him with swords) and Best Virtual Performance. Holy. Shit. There better be a video of Gollum's acceptance speech because that was farkin hilarious. It started with Andy accepting the award on behalf of Gollum and Gollum busts in an snatches the popcorn away. He had some choice words for everyone, including calling Jackson a hack and calling everyone else bastards. Oh. My. God. I could not stop laughing. After it was done, they had a reaction shot of Elijah, who was mouthing "that was so awesome."
tATu performed with their usual confused hijinx. They are horrible live, by the way.
Best Female Performance went to Kirsten Dunst, who was once again kind of snarky. What's up with her? Oh, and I believe she's dating Jake Gyllenhal. Hrm. *shrug* Best Male went to Eminem, who did the obnoxious "I've got mail!" skit from Crank Yankers with a couple MTV appropriate tweaks.
Lord of the Rings the Two Towers won Best Movie! Woohooo! With Sean apologizing for Gollum and Billy being... Billy ^_^ T'was very cute. The presentation by Keanu was.. eh.
Have just finished watching the post show. Nothing of note except Elijah jumping on Ian Robinson's back. I love Lij. Where do I sign up for one?
LJ's being a bastard and not loading. Gonna go watch Plunkett & Macleane before bed...
1:52 AM:
Just watched Plunkett & Macleane. Great film. Will have to watch it again when I'm not half-asleep.
Probably going to read some fic before bed. I have a yin for Dark Ferret's Voyage. Pirates, Logan & Rogue. What more could I ask for?

Date: 2003-06-16 08:24 am (UTC)To quote the great Terry Wogan: "Yup, that's the way to win points with the audience - not only sing very, very badly, but sing in a language no-one else in the entire place understands. Well done girls!"
(Terry's Eurovision commentaries, with extra snark and cheerful Irish tipsiness, are the only reason anyone in this country actually watches the thing.... hehehe)
Re:
Date: 2003-06-16 08:42 am (UTC)I would like a channel that makes snarky comments with cheerful tipsiness ^_^
