X2.. again
May. 3rd, 2003 05:23 pmSo, upon second viewing, the pacing issues weren't so bad.
Random observation: The opening sequenced for Marvel/Fox films look ridiculously similar. X-Men was a close-up fly-through of the gene structure. Spiderman was close-up fly-throughs of webs. X2 is close-up fly-throughs of the insides of Cerebro. Similar coloring and CGI styles as well. I think Daredevil was the only odd one out of the group, but I could be wrong as I didn't really care that much.
I will pay to see that movie again just so I can watch Nightcrawler's first scene. Also, I must now download Mozart's "Dies Irae." And buy the soundtrack when it comes out next week.
Scott listens to NSync. I'm somehow not surprised. Also, his poor RX8 is now at the Drake's house, just chilling in the driveway.
Noticed that the computer to Mystique's right also has a "Muir Island" folder right next to the "Cerebro" one.
Logan's line upon seeing Deathstrike: "Holy shit."
I wish she didn't have to be killed off. I wanted to see her again. Plus, she kicked Logan's ass. Why do they always have to kill the Asians?
The uniforms look much better this time around. Let's hope the cast were allowed time to properly stretch the material before they were sent to set. The the bloopers for X-Men with them falling while trying to jump the wall were amusing. I liked how the trimming and "x" buttons on each uniform match with the predominant costume color in the comics. Couldn't make out Rogue's in the movie, but a promo shot shows it's green. Once again glad those two are now in uniform. Anyway, as I was saying, uniforms - Logan's definitely got the best. Noticed those suede/velvet stripes mimicing the stripes in the comic costume. Very neat.
Something about Scott's reaction to Jean's "death" was still cringe worthy. And I believe half the people in the theater, me included, thought Scott might kiss the Prof.
Loved the glimmer of Phoenix below the surface of Alkali Lake at the end. The monologue still doesn't do anything for me.
Mike and I sat through the credit and saw Ben Andersen's name under visual programmer for Rhythm & Hues. I can't believe he graduated from Oneonta.

Date: 2003-05-03 07:52 pm (UTC)So it wasn't just me. I seriously thought it was going to be like the scenes in Ghost. (Am I the only one who remembers that during all the kissig and romantic stuff that was 'really' Whoopie Goldberg?)
