I'm glad the news is all, "look! We're bombing at Iraq! They're odd and we don't know why they didn't just surrender." Pfft. And discussing how they could have spent their money on food and healthcare instead of monuments to Saddam or Saddam's cars. This is just dumb. Do you think these people had a choice? I mean, our government does the same thing, though more covertly. Does the White House really need a $3,000 toilet? Pot. Kettle. Work it out. At least dictators don't pretend to be nice people.

according to the dictionary:

awe
1. A mixed emotion of reverence, respect, dread, and wonder inspired by authority, genius, great beauty, sublimity, or might: We felt awe when contemplating the works of Bach. The observers were in awe of the destructive power of the new weapon.
2. Archaic. a) The power to inspire dread. b) Dread.

Which, okay, yes, the dread, but I had always been under the impression that "awe" is a more positive word. As in, "we are in awe of God's power" blah blah. I dunno.

Could someone else name these strikes, please? Like, "Operation: Iraqi Oil" and "Operation: Bomb Baghdad Back to the Stone Age" Yeah.

So, how the hell does this make Bush any better than Bin Laden? Because we warned them first?? The only "Shock and Awe" here is that this war is even taking place.

I don't even really consider this a war - it's a preemptive INVASION. We've just invaded Iraq and bombed their cities. Wow, aren't we cool and powerful? [/sarcasm]

To say the least - I don't like your president much, and I've lost quite a bit of respect for Howard now too. I voted for Howard dammit. Eh well, I don't know whether to say 'They aren't telling us stuff and this is the right choice' or 'They just want to make a war to get cool stuff'.
