Two finals down, one to go. I was 30minutes late for my Digital Video final, but he'd just started showing things, so it was no big deal. Um.. unfortunately, one of the important scenes from our movie is missing >_< I'm not exactly sure how that happened... I'm going to try to recut it later this week and have something up for people to download.

Should study for my Chem final.. seeing as I haven't been to class in over a month...

I just bought a ticket for the Dec 21 showing of LotR:TTT at Crossgates. Word is it's gonna be a mad house :-P But still.. Lord of the Rings!! Waaiii! Oh, and my legal docs came for the Alias sweepstakes, so I have to look those over/fill them out. LA, here I come! ^___^

And the ebst news of the day: I called Walmart and my photos are in! All three rolls! Huzzah!

Right.. studying.

Here's my deal on LOTR. I'm an AVID fan of the novels you see, and when I saw the first movie, I was downright pissed that some key things were changed, especially the disinclusion of Tom Bombadil, clearly one of my favourite characters. I'll admit that the visuals were indeed beautiful and somewhat accurate to what I pictured, but I was very turned off to seeing the rest in the theater.

HOWEVER, when seeing Harry Potter both times in the theaters, I saw the trailer for the Two Towers and am actually QUITE tempted to see the next installment. I think, even if I am disappointed, that I SHOULD see it at some point, and why not see it on the big screen, which will do it the most justice.

Thats my rant on the LOTR movies... Take it or leave it :-P

I know, I know. A lot of purists think the same way. Then again, I've never read the books all the way through (::ducks:: Don't hurt me!) so I'm not able to defend it as you would. I'd be pissed if someone had left out my favorite characters, so I understand how you feel.

And now playing devil's advocate: It's very hard to turn something as grand and rich as the Lordof the Rings into 9 hours of film. Peter Jackson & co have gotten a bit of crap for having cut Tom Bombadil, beefing up Arwen's role (ewww.. Liv), and a few other things, but as a fan you'll of course know that the books aren't that easily translated to film. (I was very pissed they lost Best Adapted Screenplay to A Beautiful Mind)

Um, what was I on about... oh, right. Peter Jackson was on TV recently talking about the movies and he says he knows people are pissed at him about leaving out Tom Bombadil, and he pointed out that keep the story on track, they had to decide what the main story was - in this case, the journey of the Ring and Frodo. People who were not directly attached to that mission had to be written out.

I know that's a crappy excuse, but that's what the hobbit said and I believe him. *g* Peter Jackson is a huge fan of the novels, which is why the movie is as well done as it is. Could you imagine a larger Hollywood production? Brad Pitt as Aragorn. Tom Cruise as Boromir. In a Steven Spielberg picture. A writing team of 60 people who've never read the book. *gag*

That's my rant... I'm a debater ^_^* Don't take it personally. *g*
