Britney fan says that Britney wore the snake for the shock effect and that she wasn't afraid of the snake even though it's a constrictor and it could have strangled her.

Um. I really doubt that since the poor boa had its mouth sewn shut and was probably tranquilized.

My own observations and snarky comments from ABCNews.com. I remember hearing on the news that the snake's mouth was sewn shut, but can't find the article.

*blink* Did they really sew its mouth shut? ...That's terrible. Though, I suppose, if I were a big pretty boa like that and someone started dancing about carrying me, I'd bite them, too....

Okay, can't find "official" type documentation, but the snake was likely drugged, and the sewn mouth may have been a rumor.

What with the singing, dancing, and loudness, I could easily see the snake getting cranky.
