Sez got a random e-mail from Jon Sozek, a guy I went to high school with but haven't talked to in 3 years.

Apparently he did a search on his name and got to this entry at Monkey Crack and somehow found a link to Sezzy's page and from there, her e-mail addy. And that's the part I can't figure out because there isn't a link to her site on that page.... Through my livejournal maybe? I dunno. Guess I'll have to ask him.

Ah, and in doing a search in Google for my name, I got some weird results. Apparently I am a spokeswoman for Wal-Mart, a graduate of both Princeton and Harvard, a staff member of DiverseWorks, President of Toastmasters.org.tw, and look! I'm a tree bark artist of some kind.

I know... total weirdness. Still not sure how he did that. Couple of poss's...

1) he clicked on the 'similar pages' link @ Google and found my site listed there...

2) he went to the ai.com man page and clicked on the 'sister site' link there (because, in the email, he actually CALLED it the sister site)...

...but this still doesn't explain why he didn't just email you direct from either of those options. :) Because from either of the direct links to your page, your email is available. *shrug*

Anyhoo, it was an interesting start to my Thursday. ^_^

I got an e-mail back from him and it sounds like he went to the ai.com main page, tried 'contact' (I really should re-do ai.com... it takes sooo long to DL on dial-up -.-;) on the bottom right. Buuuut.... I seem to have forgotten to make a contact page. Oops. Heh. Having failed that, he went to your site and e-mailed you ^_^

In any case, it was good to hear from him.

Once months ago, I did a search on "FyrDrakken" and found -- well, at least a couple of links to my pics and commentary on Anthony Stewart Head's autograph session at a local comic book store about a year ago (or at least to the text copied therefrom) by GASPers, and maybe one or two other very strange references. But my own fic site didn't show up. Extremely odd, I thought. I would have expected it to be the top of the list...

And then a few months back I got a response to a query I made about contacting a specific person -- from the person herself, who said she had just gotten online recently and stumbled across my mention of her on a webpage. I can only assume she did a search under her own name to run across it..

You missed the entry a few months back where I found out that "Amezri" (which I thought really long and hard about and mushed together two names to make) is actually a village in Morocco. -.-;;
