So instead of doing anything remotely productive, I got the TengScribe program and tried to figure out how "mae govannen" comes out tlD xrH5:5F

I think it's missing a vowel somewhere...

And, dammit, I finally figured out where Aelora was getting her elvish from - because it wasn't quite Quenya or Sindarin (she was using "lle" for "you") - she was using Grey Company Elvish. Which is a bit different from Tolkien Elvish, since these people are making half of it up. Oh well.

Oopsie.... didn't I show you that site? I was sure I had... I figured it wasn't 'true' Tolkien Elvish because they mention role playing, but it's close enough. :)

Um, nope. Didn't show me that. Thought I've been looking through it and some of it might be worth learning, even if it's not true Tolkien elvish.

Actually, maybe mae govannen IS true Tolkien evlish, even if most/the rest isn't?? I'm at Tolkien's Languages in the FOTR Movie (http://www.elvish.org/gwaith/movie_elvish.htm) and that scene of Orli's that was cut? Has Haldir say "Mae govannen, Legolas Thranduilion." as the opening line... :)

From what I can figure out, these people did use some Tolkien Elvish (mae govannen; namaarie), and some things are similar, with different spellings ("Elen sila lumenn omentilmo" instead of Tolkien's "Elen sila lumenn omentielvo"). And some they just totally made up....
