Just came back from World of Faith Fellowship Church. As mentioned before, Kara asked me to go. It was interesting.. to say the least. Now, I haven't been to any sort of church since I was a senior in high school and even then it was the standard, boring Roman Catholic Mass. Wow... can I just say the non-denominational Christians are.. lively. I felt like I was at a taping of one of those tel-Evangelist shows. Kara assures me that it's not always like that, though. Hm. It was still kinda scary. And very much like a rock concert. I'll say this much - it was entertaining and were I Christian, perhaps I would go back. But I'm not. And afterwards I had to tell Kara that I am pagan (Jeff already knew) and that the philosophies are quite different so I was a bit... not prepared for the enthusiasm over Jesus. And honestly, I felt a bit weirded. Not in a bad way, just in "what in goddess's name am I doing here?" kind of way. *sigh*
Their dance ministry was cool. Kara said she was bad - she is so not bad! I would be too uncoordinated to attempt anything like that. The visiting Jamaican choir was very good. I enjoy good choir music. 'Twas the only part of church I actually liked.
Afterwards we went to a diner and got a breakfast foods. Was tastey and way better than dining hall food, although they were lacking the tator tots. Those are essential in a college person's breakfast *g*
Geez.. I have been out more this weekend than I have all year. How weird... And I'm about to got do some more work! o_O Egads! I'm being social and productive! Somebody stop me!
Actually.... at least I'm not one of the nutballs that got up at 8am to go drinking...
