Guess what?
Nov. 30th, 2001 09:50 pmI got another tarot reading. Jen kicks ass.
I'm sure not everyone wants to read about my dirty family secrets, but if you wanna, feel free.
I can't even remember what cards I got... I know Death (lower left, facing reader), the Hanged Man (middle), and I think Temperance were in the 5-card spread. But the first thing Jen saw was that I have deep anxieties about Claire leaving this room/the building and some new girl moving into the quad. She said that this was making me physically ill.
She saw a lot of stuff about my father that she was trying to pad so she wouldn't hurt my feelings. I told her that anything she said definitely wouldn't bother me. It was funny, because she had to use Claire to demonstrate the impression she got of my father: someone who's always poking. He was annoying her, she said. She knew it bother me, and also told me that it probably wouldn't bother me so much if I wasn't a good daughter. At first I thought she meant "good daughter" in a obediant way, like always listen to and respect him. But I think she meant good daughter in a more general "good person" way. *shrug* I dunno.
What's even more interesting is that she confirmed the fact that my father has a large sum of money somewhere. That's something I've been saying for years. It's definitely in a bank account, probably about $50,000, and maybe under the name of one of his brothers. She's not exactly sure how he got the money, but it was most likely illegal activities. "Let me put it this way, I'm Italian," I think meaning a mafia type thing. So I mentioned that he used to own a restaurant in Albany, and there are a lot of Chinese mafia members there. That was a possibility, she told me. Ha! Slippery weasel.
This holiday is not going to be a fun time. Jen told me to be patient. There is an issue I was thinking of.. doing something with.. but don't. She told me not to back down, but basically don't inflate the situation. There's also going to be an issue with my room at home. Possibly my father wants to put people in there? It's definitely and issue of my having my own room.
She saw that I am very close to my mother. She asked if my mother stands up to my father at all, and Claire and I both shook our heads at the same time. Jen told me that some of my father's contol issues have to do with my mother not standing up to him. She feels that if she did, then he might back down a litte. I... don't see that happening, but okay.
Next semester I am going to "become a woman of the world." It will be a better semester for me and will take me in a different direction/new attitude. A good attitude and a new outlook on life, I believe she implied. Which I really hope is true, because this semester really kicked my ass. She also sees me traveling in a year. Interesting.. I hate to travel, but maybe I'll finally make my way to Australia ^_^
Another tidbit she picked up on: my aunt has a very interesting life story, She doesn't know what, just that it's interesting. It's just another reference point in the reading, I guess.
She sees that my brother is very distant, like, he's just off doing his own thing. But he's going to be okay, and not to worry about it too much.
The last thing she mentioned was that there's going to be a relationship in the next six months. Just something to be aware of, not a big deal. It's the last thing on my mind right now, and it's really not that important, but it'll be there.
Very, very kick-ass reading. I can't wait to do another. By the end of the semester, this girl is gonna know all my dirty secrets. LOL
