After work I was going to just head to the mall, but having talked to
thebigfatman all day, I ended up at her place for a little while. That was fun. I like visiting their place :) If I didn't think they'd get sick of seeing me, I'd go over more often. *cough*
Then it was time to meet
queenmaab &
mcmi11ions for Boondock Saints. I checked a couple times for
jessehogie, but I didn't see him. Hrm.
The movie was sold out and there was a moderate line by 7pm. Nice turn out. I was kinda not amused by the $25 Hot Topic Boondock tshirts a lot of people were wearing. Only because I'm bitter that BDS stuff is now carried by Hot Topic.
Okay, so, if I didn't think Troy Duffy was an egotistical asshole before I saw the Q&A segment, I certainly would now. The Boondock Saints is still a wicked awesome movie and it was really great to finally be able to see it on screen. I wasn't impressed with the 30 seconds of extra blood that was added to the "Director's Cut," but whatever. Still love this movie. A whole lot. It was really cool to experience the movie with an audiance who were occassionally repeating lines and laughed or cringed because they knew what was going to happen.
The cat scene continues to be both really, really disgusting and really, really funny.
The boys? Look even better on a large screen. Willem Dafoe? Looks scarier.
One thing Duffy mentioned during his intro was that the sequel rights are tied up in litigation. The script is done and supposedly the boys want to come back -- he says we should see something soon. Ooookay, if you say so. I am still skeptical.
"We're sorta like Seven Eleven: we may not always be doin' business, but we're always open."
queenmaab - I fixed the icon! :D Better?
And now... bed.
