Work last night was an absolute nightmare. The boss was remerchandising so there was crap everywhere. And then when I was trying to close, people kept coming in and just would. not. leave. I have shut off the msic and pulled in the front displays, blocking your path through the store, as well as partially shutting the gate. Holy frack, get a clue! I kept telling people I was closing and asking if they needed help with any purchases and they're all "oh, I'm just looking." OMG. Look your way out of the shop, plzkthnx. Only one couple had the good sense to ask what time I closed and when I said 7, he was all, "oh, it's 7:10! We better get out so you can close." Thanks, dude, too bad the other people didn't take that same hint.

It was 7:35p by the time I closed up and got on the bus (which waited over 5 minutes before leaving the curb) and 7:45p by the time I left the parking lot. I made it to the mall a bit after 8p so I could meet up with [livejournal.com profile] queenmaab to see The Chronicles of Narnia. Totally needed that break from reality :-P So, QM, I'm glad you finally did decide to go XD

I liked Narnia quite a bit. It was about two and a half hours, but somehow felt way longer. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not; I didn't mind really. They packed quite a bit in and the pacing was pretty good. It's only about 20 minutes shorter than the original BBC production, too. I loved Lucy in the book, hated Lucy in the BBC series, and really liked her in this movie. Tilda Swinton was an excellent White Queen and Edmund, as always, is a schmuck. I don't really care that he changed at the end, he's still a schmuck and needed a smack upside the head. The Beavers were awesome. Also... they made Mr. Tumnus... cute, so while I'm still not entriely okay with Tumnus/Lucy, I can at least see it now XD Okay, yeah, the movie had all these Christian allegory overtones, but you know, I just ignore those. Also, the blue water of the river made me miss NZ liekwhoa.

Okay, that's really fucked up that the Australian Serenity DVD is better than the US one. They get a 2-disc set with either a special slip case or a tin. And it has loads of other extras and interviews. What. The. Hell. I have to hope that they're going to release it here at some point in the future because as it is, I don't think I can get my ancient TV to play a PAL signal even if I can get the DVD player region free. Argh.

Last might my computer did that weird click-ping thing again before everything slowed down and froze. I have no idea what it's doing, but I have a feeling I should be backing up my data ASAP and saving money for a new system. *sigh*

Hmm.. instead of doing something useful, I shall now do a meme, because [livejournal.com profile] darkmoon711 tagged me. I have to ramble for 5 minutes about cookies (her choice) and then... tag 5 people with the word of my choice? Which they then have to ramble about before tagging 5 other people.

Uhm. Okay, cookies. I like cookies. My favorite are oatmeal chocolate chip, which are very hard to find premade, so I usually end up making them myself. And then there are hermit cookies, which I haven't had in ages -- so now of course I want some. Hrm. What other cookies do I like... chocolate chips, of course. Freihofer's makes the best cookies. Ever. They're soft and chewy and bite-sized. So yummy. Oh! And talking about cookies, I can't forget cookeh tahme!! *ahem* Cookie Time. They're sort of hard and make a big crumbly mess, but man did those things power us through NZ. I think I ate two or three of those every day. Okay, I'm calling that 5 minutes because.. that's too much talk about cookies. It's making me hungry.

Tagging the following people (excuse the utter randomness of the words; seriously, I'm sorry.): [livejournal.com profile] crushw_eyeliner (window); [livejournal.com profile] cassiejamie (kimono); [livejournal.com profile] queenmaab (red); [livejournal.com profile] shoemaster (crackers); [livejournal.com profile] alorarose (snow)

I guess you can take those words however you want. *shrug*

Seriously. Watch this. Uni students are funny. And dorky. And have way too much free time. (link via [livejournal.com profile] seishin)

And a meme from [livejournal.com profile] lilorphanannie: List 7 songs you are into right now.

No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

1. Living Things - Bom Bom Bom
2. We Are Scientists - Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt
3. Muse - Butterflies & Hurricanes
4. Tracy Bonham - Kisses
5. Rachel Luttrell - Beyond the Night
6. Gary Stadler - Mystery
7. Wil Wheaton - Lakeside Shadow

A lot of those are from a mix I finished, but haven't posted yet.

I tag no one. If you want to do it, feel free.
