amezri: (...strung-out)
For various reasons, I didn't get to bed last night until nearly 2am, so you can imagine how tired I was. As usual, I looked at the clock and saw that was 9:20am - I was running half an hour late. So here I was, running around trying to get ready for my long day of hell, worrying about being late for work. Again. I was so happy that I got ready in 20 minutes and was kinda mostly on time for work.

It was 9:00 am.

First sign that something was wrong: the clock at the coffee shop said 9:05am. Then Jeff and Teri were looking at me like I had two heads. I looked at the clocks on the Help Desk computers and phones - 9:00am. I was an hour early for work.

And you know.. whatever. I felt like an ass for about 5 minutes then figured it was a good opportunity to make an extra $6. Then I got talking to Jeff and realized that I forgot my ticket to Terps tonight. >_< So.... back to my room to get it. Half way there, I remembered that I left my key in my bag. At the Help Desk. ::smacks:: I had to ask one of the Maintenance people to let me in. I get back to the Help Desk and then... remembered that I forgot my camera for the gallery opening tonight AND my CD player so I'm not painting in silence later. ::bangs head on desk:: I'm probably going to have to take another trip to the building some time today.

Oh! And on top of all that, I have two papers to write for ETIntell and not one clue what to do for either! This sucks...

Schedule for today:
10:00am-02:00pm: work (ie listening to people bitch about their computers)
02:00pm-04:00pm: painting (will have to make that trip home sometime before that)
04:00pm-05:00pm: web design class (where I will sit and chill for an hour)
05:00pm-06:00pm: gallery opening
06:00pm-08:00pm: yet more painting (someone shoot me...)
08:00pm-10:00pm: Terps

::cries:: How was I bored out of my skull the entire semster and am now sporting a stuffed schedule??

Q still wants to go see Spider-Man on Saturday... I wanted to go Friday. I was told many people were going Friday. Argh.

Just wanted to let everyone know....

Due to an increased rate of submissions, Symantec Security Response is upgrading the threat level for W32.Klez.E@mm from level 2 to level 3 as of March 6, 2002.

W32.Klez.E@mm is similar to W32.Klez.A@mm. It is a mass-mailing email worm that also attempts to copy itself to network shares. The worm uses random subject lines, message bodies, and attachment file names.

The worm exploits a vulnerability in Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express in an attempt to execute itself when you open or even preview the message in which it is contained. Information and a patch for the vulnerability are available at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS01-020.asp.

The worm overwrites files and creates hidden copies of the originals. In addition, the worm drops the virus W32.Elkern.3587, which is similar to W32.ElKern.3326.

The worm attempts to disable some common antivirus products and has a payload which fills files with all zeroes.

Damage:

Payload: Disables common antivirus products
Large scale e-mailing: Mails email adddresses found in local files, and Outlook and ICQ address books
Modifies files: Overwrites files with zeros on the 6th of every odd numbered month (January, March, May, July, September, November)

After the crappy start to my day, things got a bit better. I actually finished a painting - and I like it! ^_^V Three more to go. Plus two papers and one project for ETIntell. But...

After one hella long day, I am glad to say that the Terps show was probably one of the coolest events I have been to. Great music, awesome dancers. Glad I went. Thank you, Dave!

Coolest routines: Salsa En La Calle," "Groove Armada," "It's My Prerogative to Make You Jump!" (because old-school is sooo fun), "Throb," "Keepin' It Gangsta," and the Finale. "Alive in our Hearts" was a very nice tribute to Aaliyah and I was so thrilled to see a dance routine set to "Papercut" by Linkin Park. Biggest shocker: ballet dancing to "Fever" and the techno song "See Right Through To You." Was totally cool.

Other coolness: The skits done by the theatre people. The Hartwick one was the best! Hartwick Wall Painters Club, indeed. >_< Hmm.. also the small amount of cute boys did not suck. Three to be exact. One is graduating, one - if I remember correctly - doesn't really swing that way, and the other... is a random boy, but quite cute. With glasses and everything. *teehee* Okay, I'll stop now.

Most annoying parts: the Emcees. Bad, bad, horrible, sucky jokes. Blah. The plague of technical difficulties. The curtain malfunction. The girl sitting next to me who kept kicking me. The girls around us who spazzed out many times during the show.

Very tired. Going to bed. Need to sort out my schedule for the weekend and get papers and stuff done. Argh. I kind of want to go out Friday, but seriously doubt that one's going to happen. I need to seriously pack things to go home. Aw, frell. I have no time for this stuff.
