amezri: (Ew...)
I acted on that urge to go out. Arrived at Freddy's around 10:30pm - the place was empty. This is a *good* thing. Twiddled my thumbs for about 20 minutes before we went downstairs to the, uh.. "dance floor." That was pretty spartan, but I know some people who will love this: The rugby boys were wearing dresses and doing some very rude and slashy things to/with each other. Straight? Yes. Uh huh. *ahem*

After the boys disappeared to an upper floor, the rest of us watched some girl do what she obviously does for a night job - a sleazy pole dancer. She was a little too over the top. Hell, I felt dirty after watching her and I can put up with some pretty crazy shit.

Slutty girls aside, I saw some people that I knew - including Brian who I used to work with. Around 11:30, though, the place started getting packed. Muggy, smokey, and crowded. Ugh, how I hate that. I have issues with random people bumping into me. Ick. Makes my skin crawl. On the plus side, the hot!boy I saw the last time I went out walked passed me twice. *G*

More negativities: music sucked, people are very pushy and have no concept of personal space, thinking that elbowing people is okay. If that girl touched me one more time, I think I would have ripped out her throat. Breathing in that place was becoming an issue. So leaving was the only obvious option. :-P Thank gods. Caught the 1:30am bus back to campus and all is good. Well, the bus trip sucked. Really drunk people who would not shut the hell up and some freak show who kept waving a flashlight in people's faces. Ugh.

Mom's coming tomorrow. I suppose I should get some rest. I smell like bar and should probably take a shower... but I'm too tired.

QUAKE!

I woke up around 7am this morning. Why? Because my bed was shaking. The thought that it was an earthquake did flash very briefly in my mind -- but an earthquake on that scale in NY? No way! So, in my sleepy state, I rationalized that it was the truck outside. Uh, yeah, sure. The shaking didn't seem to want to stop anytime soon, so I kinda rolled out of bed onto the floor and went to have a look at my humidifier. The water inside was rippling. Ugh. Definitely the building shaking - or the floor at least. When I got back in bed about 20 seconds later, it was over. Found out later when my mom came up that it was a 5.1 and originated in Canada. Shockwave could be felt in Baltimore, or so I was told.

Earthquakes are scary and I do not like them. That one in Taiwan that shook the whole freakin' building was plenty scary, thank you.

Story here.

Wheee!
