So here's the story of one of the most annoying upgrades in the world. We gutted my brother's computer and moved his stuff to the new shell. Nice gigahertz processor and everything. The floppy drive doesn't work. Apparently, the pins are busted so we have to get a new one.
We then gut my old machine and movie it to my brother's old shell to create a newer old machine. I think it's a PII. We installed Chinese Win98 on the thing and the modem wasn't working and it wouldn't pick up the secondary drive. So I said, "Hey, let's install Chinese Win2k. It's very stable." Which is true. Win2K is very stable. It's the programs that crash every five seconds. It picked up the secondary and I got the modem drivers installed. Huzzah.
AOL works. Until you try to IM people. The it dies. So now I'm trying to download a Chinese version of AIM to go along with the Chinese operating system. I'm hoping it's just a compatability issue.
Did I mention I was at the Mac store today? Yeah, those Macs are looking better and better...
