Tests are fun...
Oct. 6th, 2001 01:06 am... as long as they're not academic. eMode.com has some new tests that I thought I'd check out.
Before I do that, I'd just like to share a little tidbit from my brother:
"It was so funny, since, in reality, we all know that the kid is a total moron. And 'infantile' isn't something you'd expect. Sort of like seeing a monkey walk up to you, and take your wallet. It's so absurd, it's hillarious."
Okay, on to testing fun!
Theme Song: your theme song is Independent Woman
You could fit right in with Charlie's Angels themselves. When "Independent Woman" is cranking, your smooth and powerful groove announces your entrance to any event and nothing can get in your way. Maybe you're balancing school, sports, and a job. Or maybe you're seriously thinking about your career. Any way you slice it, you are a modern woman. When your song comes on the car radio, you turn it up and tell your passengers to hang on--you have a statement to make and a song to sing. You're a lass with sass, and plenty of sauce. Some of your girlfriends might not understand why you pay your own way on dates sometimes. But it makes sense to you. You can't be categorized by the usual labels. Hey, you've got your priorities straight and being dependent on someone all of the time is not one of them. And while strangers might be surprised enough to say, "Girl I didn't know you could get down like that," no one else is, 'cause you've proven your righteousness time and time again.
Emotional IQ Test: Based on your answers, your score is 98.
Based on your slightly lower-than-average score, we can tell that you're by no means an emotional basket case, but you sometimes have trouble balancing your emotional needs with everyone else's. Navigating the sometimes-tricky tangle of relationships is a real challenge, we know, but it's really important to keep your emotional life in perspective.
Feelings are complicated things, and while it's critical to be a good friend and lover to others, it's also essential to see the bigger picture and take care of yourself. Offering someone a shoulder to cry on is great; worrying yourself into a tizzy every time someone you care about hits a rough patch isn't. For one thing, it's exhausting! If you wear yourself out fretting about other people, you won't have any time left for yourself. And we all have the right to treat ourselves right and be selfish with our feelings now and then. The road to emotional health and well-being can be bumpy, but if you make it a point to strive for balance and move at a relatively even pace, the bumps won't be so bad. Stay alert behind the wheel, and your drive will get better and better. Good luck!
The Identity Test
Openness To Experience
Your high score in the Openness category means that you probably have a strong creative streak. Your broad intellectual curiosity and your interest in the various arts set you apart. Some people may consider you somewhat of a dreamer, and your taste for variety often means moving quickly on to the next experience. This tendency makes you appear a bit flighty and inconsistent. But these elements of your personality simply reflect a character full of new ideas and charged with emotions.
Conscientiousness
Your medium score in the Conscientiousness category means that you have achieved a solid balance in your outlook towards responsibility. You are probably somewhat organized, with a little room for improvement. Your priorities probably reflect a mix of work and play. Thoughtfulness characterizes your thinking style, so you give gravity to important decisions without making a big deal out of minor issues. You are probably serious about achieving success, but do not feel completely driven by this motivation. All in all, you've got a very healthy perspective on work and duty.
Extraversion
Your medium score in the Extraversion category defines your social identity. You are probably comfortable in either a crowd or by yourself, and spending time alone or with company is equally enjoyable. When among others, you tend to stand in the foreground, although you may not always wish to take the position of a leader. Instead, you seem to prefer moving between the role of leader and follower, as the situation requires. You probably keep a moderately active social life; you're generally on the lookout for excitement, but certainly don't require it. You tend to keep a fairly positive emotional outlook, and people can usually count on your for some good cheer.
Agreeableness
The Agreeableness category refers to your social disposition. Your medium score indicates someone who balances the priorities of your own inner voice with the needs of others. You tend to be concerned with the harmony of the group, while maintaining a certain independence. Depending on the situation, you might adopt a stance that defers to the wishes of others, or else assert your own individuality. In this way, you have a great deal of tact, and believe in the situational equality of people. You probably have an approachable and kind personality. People probably admire you for your ability to speak your mind when appropriate.
Negative Emotionality
Negative Emotionality refers to your emotional reactivity. Your high score means that you're quite sensitive, and highly reactive to outside stimuli. For example, you probably worry a bit more than most, and may feel more anger than most. In addition, you may be more prone to stress and embarrassment as a result of your sensitivity. It should be noted that high sensitivity often means a lowered feeling of overall satisfaction with life. But at the same time, this sentiment is often the basis for making important changes in the world. People who know you probably see you as a bit thin-skinned, and susceptible to mood swings.
This is cool.. I like Dylan :)
The Celebrity Matchmaker: your match is Dylan McDermott
Order in the court! Yeah, we mean you. We know it's exciting that Practice hottie Dylan McDermott is your celebrity match, but for heaven's sake, calm down. After all, the TV lawyer may be tall, dark, handsome, smart, suave... Actually, on second thought, woo hoo! Celebrate all you want; this brainy babe (and ex-fiancé of Julia Roberts) is exactly the right kind of guy for you -- you love men who sweep you off your feet with their words, not just their biceps. We can just picture the two of you on a date: candlelight, a vintage wine, a deep discussion about literature or foreign film. Definitely swoon-worthy. He may be married (and a daddy!) in real life, but in the TV show in your head, we the jury find that this bright East Coast hunk is all yours.
Well, this is a surprise... not
Movie Mood Tonight: you're in the mood for a Sci Fi / Horror Movie tonight
Watch out! Don't look now, but your mood is leading you down the shadowy trail toward a Sci Fi or Horror movie. Face it, you got hooked in childhood. Must have been all those Saturdays spent watching TV matinees, hypnotized by the flashing eye candy, naively counting on human intelligence to outwit those giant insects and dastardly scions of evil. That was then. Now, movie magic has made everything bigger and better. The screams of macabre horror and the buzz of outer space adventures are even more thrilling. Focus on the breakthrough works in special effects, like Aliens, E.T, and The Matrix. In the Horror files, try the classics like Halloween or The Exorcist, then try an updated version like Scream. Just dim the lights and get ready for a great evening's entertainment.
