snow; photos; phone; weekend; smokin aces
Feb. 14th, 2007 06:30 pmNortheast: Hey, check it out! It's almost March and no huge snow storms!
Mother Nature: Aw, shit. I knew I forgot something! *dumps all snow*
Northeast: Aw, crap.
Blizzard conditions today. How exciting. I don't think I've seen this much snow fall in a 24-hour period in quite some time. I am not amused. They shut the office down at noon. It took me an hour to drive home and we;ve been working on the driveway since then. Just got done a little while ago, so that's... four and a half hours of shoveling and snowblowing. OMG. I hate snow.
More photos from my day.... don't worry, I was stopped when I took them. Mostly.

And now an update for the last few days...
So, Friday night I got a silver Motorola Razr V3c. Mom was due for a new free phone and Verizon was having a buy one get one special, and
seijitataki didn't want it, so... hey, free phone. What I didn't know was that Verizon has pretty much crippled their phones to the point where you can't get normal bluetooth functionality or do data transfer with the data cable. Bullshit. However, the workaround I've discovered is to send stuff to myself through their pix service and since I use a lot of text and will probably do a lot of pix sending, I've upgraded to the unlimited plan. I've spent the last several days playing with the phone adding new ringtones and wallpapers and playing a little bit with the camera. It's sort of sucky, but sufficient for a quick on-the-go snapshot. I think I might do one of those "Day in the Life" things with it. Perhaps on a day where I plan to do interesting things.
Satruday and Sunday I was at
queenmaab's house helping her paint. Saturday I got there at about 9am and her husband had made blueberry pancakes. Yum! We got the largest room painted and all the furniture moved back by about 3pm or 4pm. Go team us!
queenmaab's parents came by later and decided to go get Chinese. I took her dad to Emperor's to place a takeaway order. I don't usually go on the weekend, so I was sort of surprised by how busy it was -- which is a good thing. I like the place and I want it to do well, but it took over half an hour to get our order done. Though, to be fair, it was a pretty huge order -- Vinny brought it out to us in a big box! I think I left at about 10pm? Maybe a little earlier. Sunday I didn't get there until almst 10am, but we finished the second room at about the same time. Got all the furniture moved around and sat and chatted a bit before Dan went out to pick up some food from Moe's. We watched Mythbusters while we ate. Photos here.
I left
queenmaab's at about 9pm for
tiscbh28's to watch Battlestar Galactica. Unfortunately, I had to suffer through the last half of the Dresden Files. Good god that show is awful. BSG, though, did not disappoint. I sort of don't care what happens to anyone else as long as Helo and Athena keep on keepin' on. :D
Monday night, a bunch of us went to see Smokin' Aces. Wow, was that violent and crazy and good. Just... lots of violence and death and blood. Rock on! And of course besides the main cast of Ryan Reynolds, Ray Liotta, Andy Garcia, Jeremy Piven, and Alicia Keys, there were a ton of cameos. The big names, of course, were Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Martin Henderson, and Peter Berg. BUT! There was also:
+ Nestor Carbonell - Suddenly Susan, The Tick (Batmanuel), Kim Possible (Senor Senior Jr); also married to Shannon Kenny who was in I-Man
+ Kevin Durand - Dead Like Me (the red-neck whose soul Roxy pops out), Touching Evil (Swopes), Stargate SG-1 (Zipacna)
+ Curtis Armstrong - Booger from "Revenge of the Nerds" as well as a mess of other stuff
+ Vladimir Kulich - Angel (The Beast), The X-Files (Olafsson)
+ Joel Edgerton - "King Arthur" (Gawain), "Ned Kelly" (Aaron Sherritt)
+ Matthew Fox -- oh, you know... Lost and Party of Five
And that leaves me last night... in which I didn't actually do anything I wanted to do and instead just putzed around on the computer. Exciting. I think I even went to bed early.
Ugh. It's still snowing! I am not amused.
