Watched the commentary on "Rising." Should have kept a notepad with me. Joe said some funny things. He also said some things that made me go "bwah?" For instance, during the first half, he kept refering to David Hewlett (or maybe Rodney McKay?) as "David McKay." It was sort of odd. Maybe it's a set joke. *shrugs* Then while they were talking about the Wraith, he said Wicked Witch of the East and even though I can't stand the Wizard of Oz, my inner pop-culture geek screamed "omg, no!!" Unless he means the Wraith should be squshed by the Ancient's house or.. I don't know. Still... he's a dork and I love him XD
Joe also talked about how Atlantis was his first scifi show and the things they were having him use (sets, props, etc) looked sort of hokey at the time but looked really cool when it was done. And.... there was something else I don't remember.
I did love the fact that the commentary was more than just "oh, hey remember how..." and "this is the part where..." They actually talked about production things and I love when commentaries do that. There was also a couple amusing anecdotes and mentions of cut scenes. We better be getting bloopers in the box set because there are some good ones, I'm sure.
Overall, I can't say I'm disappointed with the disk even though I'm kicking myself a little bit for having paid more than I should have. I'm a commentary dork and I loved this one -- especially since I got to listen to Joe speak for nearly two hours. [/fangirl]

And now for some random news links:
+ 'Bloody chainsaw' man enters US: A man carrying a home-made sword and what looked like a blood-stained chainsaw was allowed into the US from Canada, the Associated Press reports. ((The picture of this guy? Wow. If that doesn't look like a crazed psycho killer...)) The news agency says Gregory Despres' weapons were confiscated, before US custom officials in Calais, Maine, let him cross the border on 25 April.
Wait, but then there's this quote: "Being bizarre is not a reason to keep somebody out of this country or lock them up... We are governed by laws and regulations, and he did not violate any regulations."
If you're carrying a blood-cover chainsaw, I think maybe someone should be asking questions.
+ Chinese gamer sentenced to life: A Shanghai online gamer has been given a suspended death sentence for killing a fellow gamer.Qui Chengwei stabbed Zhu Caoyuan in the chest when he found out he had sold his virtual sword for 7,200 Yuan (£473). ((There really are no words...))
