And, what's a weekend without jackholery?
My father had been trying to call us all day. He was bored, obviously. He got in touch with my mother earlier in the afternoon and started babbling on about how he thought she said she was going to serve him papers and why did she need a lawyer? He has a friend who can be the lawyer for both of them. Uh. Yeah. He babbles more about stupid crap (like money and taxes) and my mother hears some kids in the background and she wants to know why he's talking about this with other people around. He says not to worry about it and continues on saying that he'll sell the duplex and split the money with her.... and she can sell our house and split the money with him. Uhm. WTF?! Three people still live in this house, you asshole. She says that he can just have the duplex - sell that and keep all the money. He says no, he demands they sell both properties and split the money - and why is she being so unreasonable. *stabs him* There was more discussing of my brother and I and how his being "okay" in school is unacceptable and how my current job is also unacceptable. My mom advised that he talk to us directly about these things and he said that he didn't like talking to me because I was impatient with him. No shit. My mother told me later that there was also mention of his "girlfriends." As in, my mother said that he seems to be having a lot of fun down in the city and my father then says something about what do you mean all my girlfriends? Which girlfriend? And something about how he's been there for years and it's not like he slept with anyone and who bloody frelling cares? No, really. We don't care. You've been down there by yourself for a couple years and you haven't slutted around -- that's sort of too bad for you, isn't it?
Three hours later who do I get a phone call from? Yeah. He calls and sounds all STONED and is all stupidly asking me how and I am and how things are going. Twenty seconds later he switches to where is my life going and am I going back for graduate school. Once again, I tell him there is no graduate school I can go to that will not be a waste of money and I do actually like my job right now. He mentions something about full time benefits and health care and just ho much do I pay for health care now anyway. I tell him and then ask him where he gets his heath care from. There's a pause.. a rather long one before I prod him again and he answer "your mother." Yeah. That's right, my mother. Where's your full time job with health insurance?" Yes, I do actually speak to my father like that because he is a sad, sad wanker. He went off on some bull about how he isn't full time but he works more than 40 hours a week. Uh huh. Right. And your point? I mean, seriously, the man is 54 and he's comparing his current job position with his daughters? Yeah, okay. At this point, he should be fuming and yelling at me, but he's sort of being retarded and laughing. He probably had company... or was stoned. We ended the conversation with him telling me how my mom said he should call and talk to me, but he had told her that I didn't like talking to him - which I confirmed. Twice. He said he had a call and had to go.
Everytime he calls? Blood. Boils. There should be a screenplay or something. It seems some dumbass drama that FOX would air.
