Sep. 12th, 2003 11:24 amOrlando and Kate. Ignoring the cries and screams of the teenies - they're cute together ^_^ Awww.
I don't know what the big deal is about who stars date. Okay, yes, I'm interested and sometimes there is that little "ew.. x should not be dating y" but that is merely an opinion (sometimes a strong one) that I don't expect anyone else to share or care about, least of all the two people involved. It annoys the crap out of me when I see teenies being all angsty over Orlando or whever the hot!boy is this week having a girlfriend and begging him (ha!) to date them instead. Child, please. It's not like you'd really have a shot at him/her anyway. If you thought you did, you need help. And why the hell are you sad - it doesn't make him any less attractive, does it? Give the dude a break and let him have a girlfriend. Don't go all drama queen and kill yourself. Who does that benefit exactly? Not you - you're dead. Not the celeb - they either will a) never hear about it b) feel really, really bad or c) will no longer be accessible in public for fear of the crazy fans.
In Asian countries, male celebrities are pretty much not allowed to say that they are married. I don't know if this is still the case, but I know it was about 10 years ago. If fangirls found out their idol was married, they would literally kill themselves. It's sick and demented. Why the hell would you do that? *shakes head* It became nearly policy that celebs would have lots of girlfriends and keep anyone permanent hush-hush. Hello, people, this leads to relationship problems for them. No one can function normally in a relationship where your partner is expected to cheat on you as part of their job.
So yes. Anti-Orli/Kate people - shut up. Kate seems like a nice enough person, or at least haven't heard anything about her being an evil bitch-monster. Orlando looks happy. They make a cute couple. So get over it.
This also, by the way, applies to the really scary contingent of Alias fans who are anti-Mrs. Vaughn. Actually, I don't care that you're anti-Mrs. Vaughn, but why the hell are you anti-Melissa George? You don't know anything about her - hell, there aren't even rumors about her. At least have the decency not to boo the poor girl she appears in public. That's just crass. I have celeb hate too, but I wouldn't boo her and I know the difference between a character and a real, live person. Also, though I dislike a celeb, I wouldn't wish them dead, just away from my fandom. Gods. Calm down, people.
