More good news...the odds are very likely that you'll only have to go one day before they let you off the hook, which is what happened a few weeks ago when I went. If you do get stuck on a case, try to have some fun with it.
The one time I got a jury duty summons, I was able to not even go because A) I no longer lived in the county the summons was for and B) I was a full-time college student at the time and hence excused. I've never gotten one since -- possibly because I'm not registered as a voter. But what I hear is that you tend to get booted from the jury during the selection process if you're college-educated anyway -- lawyers like 'em dumb and easily led.
