amezriBorrowing Joanne's computer for a while so I can check e-mail and stuff. Found yet another CD I need to buy from Secondspin.com: A Life Less Ordinary soundtrack for $6.99. Sweetness! Unfortunately, I was shocked and dismayed when I ventured over to IMDB.com..
Had a look at the cast list for X-Men 2. I.. am speechless. Alan Cummings as Nightcrawler will have to be seen, so I can't really say anything about that and the core X-team is back, so good. But the rest of these...
The only reason Shawn Ashmore was recast was probably because he had the larger supporting role. Plus, you know, the whole Mystique morph scene. Blah. There seems to be an awful lot of the Drake family running around, which may make bad story. I'm interested in seeing what they're going to do with Colossus and Siryn.
'kay, big gripe: "James 'Logan' Howlett"? "Marie D'Ancanto"? The frell did they pull those names from?!
Oh - for you Methos fans, Peter Wingfield is cast as a character named Lyman.
Can't wait for May 3 to roll around...

- Aaron Stanford as Pyro/St. John Allerdyce - no picture, but I liked Alex Burton from the first film.
- Katie Stuart as Shadowcat/Katherine 'Kitty' Pryde - hellz. no. I want Sumela Kay back. Dunno who this girl is, but Sumela Kay was totally Kitty.
- Kea Wong as Jubilee/Jubilation Lee - argh. Again with the recasting. I liked Katrina Florece. she had a very Jubes look to her. *sigh* At least they traded up for a Chinese girl...

However, if that's from imdb, I wouldn't believe it. He's not listed as anything but Logan/Wolverine in any of the other info, like the EW.com article from a couple weeks ago.

But I agree with you: recasting characters sucks. Even if they were minor characters we were use to their face so it's just plain weird.

Date: 2002-08-23 03:52 am (UTC)I was never impressed with Ray Park's acting. Notice how little of it he actually *does* -- just bounces around kicking people's asses. Kurt has an actual personality that I was especially looking forward to seeing onscreen.
