Sep. 12th, 2006 08:27 pmWork = blah. But at least my boss let me put my CHIMP mirror on my monitor! Actually the convo went sort of like this:
Boss: I like your little mirror! Is that so you can see behind you?
Me: Yeah... it's supposed to go on the monitor, but I didn't want it to bother anyone so it's on my desk.
Boss: Well it won't bother me.
Me: So... you don't think anyone would care if I put it up?
Boss: Who cares? I don't blame you for wanting to see behind you.
Yeah, sometimes I like him a lot :D
After work, I went to dinner with
sweetwildandmad,
katkel, and some work friends. We had Chinese at Emperor's. I love that place. On the way home I stopped by Target. They're having a DVD sale and I got an extra copy of Firefly (conversion set!) and season 1 of Entourage for $18 each. They had Gilmore Girls seasons 3-5 for that price, but... I dunno. I might invest in season 3 because I actually liked it, but once Rory went to college I sort of really started to hate her.
So... about that one particular forum. I'm just not going to say anything any more. Hewlett has made it clear that he wants to run the place without any guidelines or rules. I think that's very generous of him... and that he greatly underestimates the stupidity of fandom at large. But, hey, maybe they'll prove me wrong and be perfectly fine. I doubt it though if they think people asking them to not post questionable material equals a flame war.
In other news,
naominovik's Temeraire series has been optioned by Peter Jackson. Congratulations!!
And... now to go work on some forum banners.
