Off to work. Blech. But before I leave, a couple of articles on the Sony rootkit situation.

Sony Folds Tent, Recalls CDs
Sony BMG, yielding to consumer concern, said on Wednesday it was recalling music CDs containing copy-protection software that acts like virus software and hides deep inside a computer.

That's very big of you. To, you know, recall a product you released that's effectively a virus and causes a system security breach.

Real Story of the Rogue Rootkit
The story to pay attention to here is the collusion between big media companies who try to control what we do on our computers and computer-security companies who are supposed to be protecting us.

Initial estimates are that more than half a million computers worldwide are infected with this Sony rootkit. Those are amazing infection numbers, making this one of the most serious internet epidemics of all time -- on a par with worms like Blaster, Slammer, Code Red and Nimda.

Work was... I don't want to talk about work.

Doctor's visit was... not very productive. I think they've ruled all medical causes and I'm now being directed to another psychologist. Uhm. Yay?

[livejournal.com profile] devildoll always passes on the most infuriating X3 news. Like how there are two more cameos -- what's that make? 546,709 mutants in this one? Oh, and Bryan Singer is sad that he's not directing X3. Thanks, Singer. That's going to mean a whole lot of nothing when the movie sucks monkeyballs.

Joined some more fanlistings and updated Winamp. Finally. The version I've been using is only, oh, 2 years old. Heh.

And now I think it's time for bed.
