Work sucked. Came home early 'cause I was all sorts of disoriented and dizzy to the point where my boss said I could go home three times and by then I wasn't sure if I should even be driving. But I did.

Came home and watched the Burbank 2004 Ben & Claudia DVD. Oh what I wouldn't have given to be in that room. There were things clipped from the footage, probably for legal reasons, but it was completely entertaining and the best $25 I've spent at Creation. The two of them together are just... guh. That's all I can say about it. And they're damned funny. There's a point where Claudia basically apologizes for "Queen of the Damned" and then says, "that's 2 hours of your life you'll never get back"? *hearts* I don't think Ben knew at the time that he'd be working with Shanks on SG-1, so the constant digs about Shanks & Claudia were hilarious. I wonder if Michael will hear about this appearance. Actually, it would be pretty amusing to get both of them at the same Q&A session. Ooo.. or Ben and Claud and Shanks! Hah! That would be so entertaining.

It was so great, I watched it all again after dinner.

Am go to bed now.

p.s. i made myself a mcshep buddy icon. mwahahaha. [/dork]

[livejournal.com profile] helbling linked to a compilation of humourous/admirable quotes from Londoners. My favorites:

All these explosions are rather scary.
Don't suppose the French are that sore at losing the Olympics, are they?

When the bombs went off in the tubes everyone just went out and huffed because it was inconvenient. Within minutes people were making jokes about, "I knew the french were bad losers, but.."
It's the Great British spirit of, "Oh well, fuck it, shall we go the pub?"
Were people running around like chickens with their heads cut off? No. People were concerned and trying to help or thinking of a solution. Or even, "Great, how do I get to work NOW?"
We've had a tragedy and it's awful, but we personally can't do anything about it.
Fancy a pint?
Yeah, alright.
We rock, plain and simple.

People have been trying to blow up bits of London for decades. Centuries, in fact. This one's nothing special. It's no different to any of the others. London's reaction to it is typified by my friend Jeff, who was actually *running* to catch the bus that was blown up.
"I went to Euston: went to the tube and there was a loud bang. and we were sent out! Then we were sent out of the station so I half ran to Tavistock Place to catch a bus to Victoria. And then it went bang, so I thought "b****r that"."

Oh, London, how I love you.

Meanwhile, the US has raised its terror alert to orange, so everyone in the US can begin to panic and freak out or whatever it is the government thinks we should be doing right now. Also, the news coverage? Getting sort of ridiculous. Is the BBC even covering it with as much enthusiasm? Geez.

In movies-we-don't-need news, Paramount Pictures will finance and distribute an untitled feature about the rescue of two Port Authority police officers from the rubble of the World Trade Center, says Variety. Oliver Stone will direct the film and Nicolas Cage will star. There's another coming from Columbia pictures as well. Ugh. I hate Hollywood. Often.

Work now, right? Yeah, thought so.

Damn you, Ben Browder! I've had the first bit of "Bushel and a Peck" in my head all day because Ben sang a bit of it on stage in the con DVD. Heh. It's funny, though.

This morning I managed to call my insurance company and get a new primary. The 5 weeks it says on the website? Yeah, not so much. The woman on the phone said I could have it effective immediately; which, yay! But then I called the new doctor's office and apparently all the doctors are taking summer vacations and the earliest appointment I could get was for August 4th. Considering how long I've been feeling like crap, another couple weeks won't hurt much I guess. So, yay new doctor! Can't be worse thn Dr. Mir, in any case.

Work went by pretty quickly. I was helping the manager re-merchandise, which was okay. Mostly I just stood around and fetched things. *shrug* not like, you know, excited to go back on Monday, but whatever.

New video clip intro to the new gallery at the Aeon Flux movie site. I'm not sure how the whole thing will turn out, but it sure does look pretty.

Oh, hey.... Shiny shirts! Not that I need to spend $25 on a Firefly themed tee, but still! Shiny!

Hi-larious headlines at the Daily Show site:

+ Best Leak Ever: Tony Blair and George Bush finally reveal that they are actually: Primesident Blush.
+ Get Smarter: Is hummus a terrorist organization, or a delicious chick pea dish?
+ TomKat: Jon recounts the intensity of the Cruise-Holmes merger.

I so need to start torrenting the show again.

Waiting for my mother to get home. We're going to a friend's divorce paper party. heh.
